It's not necessarily the ending that any of wanted but at least they got to attempt to wrap things up. I thought this last season was much stronger than the season before it. I appreciated that they didn't try to end it in the exact same way that the original show did. I think with how the story telling was going this season that there was a chance for more in this world. I held out a small hope that Netflix would decide to save it like they have other shows in the past. But I don't know what the final nail in the coffin was for this. Maybe the actors were ready to move on the something else and ready to let this go. I thought the show did a great job of tying in current social and political themes without being extremely overbearing. There were a few Hollywood cheap shots here and there but nothing to warrant more than eye roll from me while I kept watching. I loved the actors and the characters. And I would have tuned in for seasons to come. Here's to hoping the reboot machine decides to cycle through this one again somewhere in the future. Though, I know not everyone would agree with that hope. I do look forward to watching these actors in other projects. Maybe even some with other CW TV shows. Thanks for the good times.
And at least this wasn't Riverdale. So even if Roswell: New Mexico was cancelled, it's got that going for it.
