- Doctors and residents at BGH grapple with an unprecedented natural calamity that brings the city to a standstill, whilst also fighting their own personal battles.
- As a devastating deluge threatens to submerge the city of Mumbai, our crew at BGH would once again have to put aside their personal issues; some of which threaten to destroy them, their relationships and their very futures, to help a city survive. They will have to come to terms with past demons and present circumstances to try and stay afloat and do what they do best - save lives.
- January 30th, Dr Kaushik Oberoi (Mohit Raina) of Bombay General Hospital (BGH) is absolved of medical malpractice charges by the internal commission of Indian Council of Medicine. Savita Kelkar (Sonali Kulkarni) the wife of Anant Kelkar the martyred joint CP ATS of Mumbai, says that this is a cover up.
Kaushik's team includes Dr Ahaan Mirza (Satyajeet Dubey), Dr Diya Parekh (Natasha Bharadwaj) and Dr Sujata Ajawale (Mrunmayee Deshpande). Dr. Mani Subramaniam (Prakash Belawadi) is the administrative head of BGH. Dr Chitra Das (Konkona Sen Sharma) is the patient's liaison at the hospital. Sneha Cherian (Balaji Gauri) is the head nurse. Vidya Paul (Adithi Kalkunte) is another nurse at BGH. Samarth Joshi (Pushkaraj Chirputkar) is the BGH orderly. Kaushik is married to Ananya Ghosh (Tina Desai). Diya is the daughter of prominent Dr Pranab Parekh (Aarya Bhatta).
Savita creates a media storm around Kaushik's reinstatement and forces Mani to appear for a media interview to defend the ICM decision, in front of news anchor Mansi Hirani (Shreya Dhanwanthary). Mansi introduces Inspector Mayank Bhat (Inspector Mayank Bhat), the local police liaison at BGH as her witness to Kaushik's history of misbehavior. Mayank tries to defend Kaushik, but Mansi twists his words to say that there were 49 cases of complaints of misbehavior against Kaushik. Savita announces that she is going to charge Kaushik with murder of her husband in the Bombay High Court.
6 months later, 25th July, and Bombay is in the middle of the monsoon season. Diya testifies in court that Kaushik's conduct on the night of 26/11 may have been negligent. There is speculation that Kaushik may lose his medical license. Ananya is now pregnant.
26th July, and it has been raining non-stop in Bombay. Inspector Kailash Jadhav (Sanjay S Narvekar) is the new police liaison officer at BGH and promises to watch the staff like a hawk for any mistakes. The hospitals are under scrutiny for illegal sale of essential drugs in the open market. Dr Hima Deka (Jhanvi Rawat) Dr TV Raman join as new trainees in the trauma department. Ahaan has feelings for Chitra but is unable to articulate them to her.
Divya is suspected of positioning for the new head of trauma department, when she testified in court, and it went against Kaushik. Vidya is looking for a job in Bahrain. She needs to make a payment to her agent in a day and was relying on the compensation package for 26/11 victims. But those payments are stuck in clearance due to Kaushik's investigation. Kailash overhears Vidya's conversation and offers to help her earn money. Kaushik and Ananya were at the court for the verdict, but the judge could not reach the court due to incessant rains. Ananya leaves court to attend an event that she cannot back out of.
Dr Kevin Reid (Richard Bhakti Klein) is leading a delegation of foreign doctors to BGH, which includes Dr Saurav Chandra (Parambrata Chattopadhyay). Saurav and Mani have some history together. Saurav is the head of Pediatrics at St Nathan's Hospital in London. Other delegates include #1 (Elena Tuteja), #2 (Elina Hsiung), #3 (Elsa Nilaj) and #4 (Nikolay Novomlinsky).
Saurav was Chitra's abusive husband, and she is shocked to see him at BGH. Chitra had always maintained a low social profile and had no family ties and hence was puzzled as to how Saurav knew she was at BGH. Chitra wants to leave, but she is needed to care for the patients at BGH.
Sujata was stuck in a bus, when she saw a traffic accident. She gets off the bus to start treating the trauma patients, including a child with a head injury and a woman with an iron rod that went through her abdomen.
Kaushik arrives at BGH and only wanted to meet a few people. Cherian reminds Kaushik that he is still the Trauma Chief at BGH and tells him to do his job. Kaushik talks to Sujata over phone and guides her as she is stuck inside an ambulance with her patients. Sujata manages to reach BGH where Kaushik takes over. Yogesh Kulkarni (Sharad Ponkshe) is leading the foreign delegation at BGH and is shocked to see Kaushik operating in the ER. As the situation deteriorates, Kaushik needs to perform surgery on the patient, but the OT is not ready.
