  • Many people of tollywood industry might consider dj tillu a cult movie, not to mention the very film gave us many memes, cult dialogues. Although a very basic plot line, not so good narration, the film managed to gain success only through execution, dialogues and of course excellent performances.

Now imagine a dj tillu film, where production values are so high, a few extra feet tapping songs, popular actress, and more cliched story line. You get tillu square.

First half manages to catch audience pulse giving a slight hope that something huge and a bigger plotline is building up, and interval comes with a bash of underwhelming twists and out of date actions.

Second half although has a clever plotline which could have worked through a intriguing narrative, but story never asked you to take it seriously. Most of the scenes in second half seems to be fillers so as to give audiences the wow factor and movie's aim is to mesmerise the people with nostalgia of dj tillu..... which is not a bad way to entertain.

Comedy works for most of the first part, entertainment quotient is quite high. Also it is apparent amongst audiences. It is quite so commendable to narrate a story with nostalgic plot, despite trying to be unique.

But the second half comedy falls flat. Most of them are directly misogynistic at the face of women and you must have heard them while scrolling through reels or as memes. Jokes in second half are funny enough to enjoy in your mind but you may not put an effort to laugh with your mouth

Radhika character is again reintroduced in this movie giving you a slightest of hopes that movie could go on a right direction. But she is a mere doll on the face of whom our protagonist could splash some sexist jokes. She doesnt play any role in taking the plot forward. Neither does the parents and friends of protagonist. A random song in the second half is so off putting and totally breaks flow. It went extra length to convince audience to take it a serious commercial action thriller. Thus falling into the category of movies where dj tillu didnt belong.

And the ending could have been a little different from dj tillu, but it is apparent that writers and director never wanted to risk anything new other than the already tried formulaic storyline which proved successful in dj tillu.

Using nostalgia as main storyline might work for second part but not sure it would work for third. Authenticity and plot points are so perfectly put together in dj tillu but the same is missing in here.
  • Good :

    1. Tillu (duhhh) 2. Comedy (every joke landed well and the theatre was burst into laughter) 3. Story (except climax and some parts in second half) 4. Supporting characters (well half of the jokes landed well cuz of the supporting characters, especially the father character) 5. Direction (the pace is good, enjoyed the whole duration except for a few moments in second half) 6. A few twists!

Cons : 1. Anupama Parameshwaran (Plastic acting. Every time she cries, it's like we know that they put some drops in her eyes.) 2. Costume design (Tillu's costumes are top tier. While anupama's costumes are utter crap in some situations. Like she wears a sleeveless cleavage gown for a devotional song.) 3. Slightly laggy second half. (There's a filler song in second half which is sudden and unnecessary!) 4. Very convenient ending (The first part ending was better. This one gives the protagonist a huge plot armour and very convenient)

    Is it worth it?

Watch it in theatres if you can book a ticket in packed theatres. Or else wait for ott. Without crowd, these kind of movies aren't that different in theatre and ott.
  • Movie is a good attempt with great background music and good songs.the impact of the movie could have been change if there is no such great music.

Entertaining first' half with romantic scenes between lead actors and funny scenes and some dialogues gave a good experience to audience. But second half became bit lag in many scenes.

As the movie reminds the first part in some scenes, the story became predictable. Still it's good to watch.

It will it's a good film if we don't think logics.

Songs came in perfect timing. Songs fill the gap and refresh us from boredom which formed by such lengthy scenes .
  • Tillu has set up Tillu events and is leading a happy life. He even signs up to play at an event on his birthday week for an hefty amount. In the meantime, he meets up with Lilly, falling for her instantly and both have an one night stand. Lilly leaves in the morning to his disappointment and a month later, they bump into each other at an hospital. She tells him about her pregnancy and amidst his shock, their wedding is fixed. On his birthday night, he is invited to a familiar apartment by Lilly and she reveals herself to be Rohit's sister. With his past catching up, Tillu realizes he has once again fallen into a trap. Once Lilly's true intentions are revealed, Tillu being the scapegoat, how does he save himself from another mess, forms rest of the story.

Like DJ Tillu, even the sequel relies on Siddu's performance and comic timing. When it comes to that, (Tillu)² is a total entertainer. Logic has no place in this franchise and the director plays to it's strength wisely. The first half has enough fun moments and doesn't drag much till the interval where the story actually begins. Unlike DJ Tillu, the second half here works better, giving ample scope for Siddu to entertain. Even Radhika's brief cameo leads for an hilarious segment. It might not boast of any repeat value yet with the slight improvement in the second half, (Tillu)² is a much better entertainer than it's prequel.
  • Tillu Square, Just loved this movie. They have made it so well for part 2 also. Great performance, dialogues, screenplay and music. Director has taking many factors into consideration has pa's put efforts to make it more better than the 1st one.

Siddhartha in thr lead role is just wow and amazing perforce. Lead actress has burnt the screen with her hotness and wonderful performance. Movie goes so very fast pace and dialogues are so natural and siddo has done his best. Songs are placed well and background score is very well didn't feel there should be ant better things to be done. Movie should receive the best things for their efforts to the best. Can say this is best one in recent past.
  • Wow, this is a proper sequel to DJ Tillu. So many callbacks, a recap in the beginning and a continuation of the story in Part 1. A laugh riot from start to finish. I am not Telugu myself so unfortunately, I missed a few jokes as I couldn't read the subtitles in time but trust me, everyone was laughing out loud so much I thought they are going to fall off their recliner seats. XD The scope of the story is bigger this time around as it involves Indian agents trying to nab an international criminal but even as it threatens to turn into an action spy thriller, Tillanna ensures that we don't forget that this is his movie after all. The Radhika cameo was awesome and it pulled out quite a few whistles from the crowd. They made her marry someone else so we can expect another hottie in Part 3. After Tripti Damri, it's Anupama Parameswaran's turn to become the national crush. I mean, wow.

It's a well made crime comedy flick, one of the better sequels and Siddu Jonnalagadda is a star now as he is able to draw in people on the strength of his character Tillu which is sure to become one of the most memorable characters in Telugu cinema. He truly brings Tillu to life with his performance. Imagine thinking ex-RAW Jim in Pathaan being a terrorist-for-hire was anti-national while defending Bond movies or MI movies as if August Walker was not a CIA agent or Tollywood where Indian agents/characters are also criminals, traitors or terorists like in this film or in Goodachari.
  • I don't see what's so hype for this C D grade movies. I mean what are people watching and supporting giving high rating for no logical, practical or even sensible reason. The acting is such a crass, cringe, disgusting by every actor. There is no story too, and I wonder what scriptwriter was doing. And who is producing this kind of movies and expecting to be like super hit I wonder.. People have weird tastes for sure, but this is terrible. Nothing in it to be considered even to give 2 or above, but I have 2 just because they made it and marketed it for rating to get to 7.. 7... seriously ? 7... Wonderful marketing for such nonsense film.
  • All, it's a wonderful movie and well-made sequel. Our entire family laughed our heart out. Do not go on the basis of some expert reviews telling it's just like the 1st movie and try to find flaws in everything. DJ Tillu's body language, Style, Attitude and dialogue delivery should never change in all the sequels they are going to make. Hats off to Sidhu, Director, Music Director and Cinematography etc.

My Suggestion is to go and watch the movie in the theaters and laugh loud. In this modern world we stop laughing this will make you laugh loud.

Please do make this type of movies and entertain us. I am sorry for the entire team for making such a nice movie Unfortunately this movie got delayed b/c of some nonsense movies of big heroes.

"Tillu Square" graces the scene as the chic follow-up to "DJ Tillu," bearing a striking resemblance with about 80% of its DNA mirroring the original. Within its framework, it introduces two novel elements, hitting a mixed note with one being a hit and the other, unfortunately, missing the mark.

Narrative-wise, it's passable. Our lead, Tillu, retains his charm, albeit not quite capturing the magic of his debut performance. The screenplay is a mixed bag, featuring a handful of scenes that pop, a few that miss the mark, and others that simply fail to ignite, leaving the rest to fall squarely in the realm of mediocrity.

Production quality holds up well, with both cinematography and musical scores earning their stripes. Direction is on point, ensuring the film sails smoothly through its paces.

Siddu, in his element, delivers a sterling performance, living up to expectations. Anupama, while earnest in her efforts, seems to tread into the territory of overacting in her recent outings-a trend that's puzzling, to say the least.

The supporting cast turns in a decent performance, though none stand out as particularly memorable.

For aficionados of the original, "Tillu Square" might warrant a look, albeit with a grain of caution. Otherwise, feel free to give it a miss.
  • Tillu Square is a very good comedy cum romance movie. Good acting by Siddu Jonnalagada. Impressed. I became his fan after watching this movie and ANupama Parasmeswaran. What hot she was looking. In some sceenes she was looking really beautiful. Some steamy scenes were there in the movie. Interesting. I loved to watch the comedy side of this movie. IN this area Siddu Jonalagaada has proved really well. I loved the music and all the sonsg of the movie. Hindi dub I watched yet this film dub version impressed me with its dub in its song lyrics and dialogues as well. Loved the interesting dialogues also of this movie. Few action scenes of Anupama in thiss movie were well crafterd. Awesome movie afterall. I would love to give Tillu Saquare full stars but one star i am cutting because in the between sstory change track from rom com to murder story there it was a little gap for me to digest. This transition could have been more smooth. I rate this movie 4 stars on 5. Neha Shetty cameo is also there. Her role is limited but okay fine here performance. I love to watch this movie and recommed it to you too. Full pasia vasool film.
  • I laughed out loud for the first part many times but tillu square didn't have that many laughs.

The story starts off the same way as the first part but it looks more like drama. The charm of first movie is no longer present. I never really cared about the story in DJ tillu but rather I was waiting for the hilarious sequences and dialogues but in tillu square none of it comes. Songs are good and appropriately written and filmed for this movie but they come abruptly and don't make sense. It seems like tillu square needed more than just the lead pair, good supporting cast was missing even though some of the old cast was there in tillu square they didn't have good scenes.
