Ignore the hate!

I personally think this film was great and I had postponed watching due to bad reviews. Well I can safely say the film was great, thrilling and got me off my seat at some points. Ignore the harsh criticism they are more likely trying to compare to other films. Plot good acting great. All round great film. People forget it's a film too not real life and to be honest it shared a great insight into a potential problem in a future to come with AI technology. I actually think the actress who played the president was outstanding and over shown the supporting male lead role as well. Making no doubt a problem for some.

Viola Davis Rocks!!!!

This woman played the heck out this action role! Who would've ever thought she would start with action films so late in her career but I loved it. Especially the chemistry between her and her assigned agent. Not romantic chemistry either! Loved it! Bump what the haters say!

The supporting cast were all great too! The bad guy was great and a bit frightening but I loved the fight of this mother stepping up and fighting for her family and the United States. Turning non-believers to believers. Let's not talk about how beautiful she is in this movie. Skin was glowing!

In my opinion, it's a great watch for the family.

Awesome movie

Viola was amazing and did her own stunts, what? Like that's amazing! She kicked butt!

Ramon as the secret service loyal to no fault of his president , not to mention amazing fight scenes and great targeting just as good as he does on his own show "will trent" !!!

Anthony Starr is great as a villain, he did amazing too!

The daughter having awesome computer skill definitely came through!!!!!!

The devoted husband and protective father most definitely gave exactly what it was supposed to give, as it should be!!!!

I definitely did not think the treasury secretary would be the other villain, the twists were awesome!!!

OverAll, i loved the movie!

Way better than expected

So after the trailer, i was expacting to get a female mclane x john wick version and with that, didn't thought much good about it. But it was a really realistic scenario idea and through out the film i got suprised. Plot twists several times and some new camera movements (i have never seen before) with the story writing made it for me surprisingly capturing (some good jokes are not missing as well). The CGI is not bad, the scripted characters are cool too and the soundtrack is (most of the time) not a soundtrack who put the questions -what- in your head. Davis and Starr performed awesome and gave there character a superb note! Give it a try and make ur own opinion!

I wish

I wish Viola Davis was running America right now...(anyone who dislikes this review is a MAGA bootlicker).

Once upon a time there was a president called Viola who was in a film G20. This review is about that film but more about getting the required word count for a film review on IMDb even though I've seen reviews with far less words on here. If Kevin Sorbo was in this I would probably rate it lower. Like -10 or summink. Anyways, go watch it now on Mr Bezos channel so he can fund more pathetic bus trips to outer space. Maybe Trump can go next time and some sort of mechanical malfunction may happen. Who knows?

Two thumbs up! Loved this!

Don't listen to the haters. This is an entertaining action movie. That's exactly what I was in the mood for. I didn't spend time dissecting it; I just watched and enjoyed every minute. What a treat to have a woman of color leading the cast. To have multiple ethnicities represented in key roles. Terrific as well that Viola Davis was one of the producers. As a Hispanic female, those are all wins in my book. Yes, there are some inaccuracies. Yes, some of it might be unrealistic. Yes, it is like other action movies you have seen. There are many great movies that you can say that about. Movies are make-believe. We know that. If you want reality, watch a documentary.

Fun Movie

I enjoyed watching this movie. Good action, and great acting. Heroes, villains, what more can you ask for? It's one of those movies that you just buckle up and enjoy the ride. It's an action movie people!

The movie also touches on some ideological themes.. Between the villain that has rationalized their greed with virtuousm. To the heroine that's ready to risk it all for their family- it's all there!

I'm happy that I viewed the movie, despite its bad reviews.. Frankly, reading in between the lines of many of the reviews... "An older black woman action star? Impossible". It makes me laugh, it's a fictional movie.. treat it as such..

A MUST SEE!!!!

Trust me! Action, laughter, tears! Viola Davis is a great action star annd I love the family dynamics. Anthony & Marsai are back together again with a different mom lol! This is such an AMAZING and brilliant cast! Definitely great for movie night or date night!! My boy Will Trent made it to the big screen, from GBI to the secret service baby!!!! Six hundred characters is a whole lot to fill for a movie review, I'm pretty sure they do this to deter people from reviewing movies because geegollywiz Batman I have nothing else to say but I still have forty two, thirty one, twenty, nineteen, sev, tw.

Best President Hero Movie since Air Force One

Love this movie! Now I understand why Viola Davis is an EGOT winner! It was action packed with just the right amount of levity and emotional connection. I watched it twice to ensure the violence and language wouldn't be too much for my young teen and a second time with the whole family. Young and old, boys and girls, gave it two thumbs up. The family interactions were realistic, and we were rooting for Manny. It has a great, heart stopping twist at the end which gives that Air Force One thrill ride. The "crypto" and state of the US currency and relationship to allies was very timely, even though this movie had to have been filmed before 2025.

Very good!

I think we've become hyper critical as a people group and it's weird. Negativity may spread easier than positivity, but excess cynicism is odd and unhealthy. You obsessively unhappy people need to allow us normal ppl to simply enjoy good entertainment!

This movie had everything you want in a great film! I enjoyed it alot! From the mother daughter dynamic, to the humor, to the action scenes, Viola shines!

I love the plot twists, like learning who betrayed whom in the end. I loved the South African actors and the nod to their culture via cultural dance scenes, Makeba's beautiful Pata Pata song, etc.

Genuinely this was a great movie and I'm glad I saw it! Viola simply doesn't miss!

Great, timely, action thriller!

Viola Davis commands the screen as she always does and is excellent as the US President! It has an awesome ensemble cast that are right up there with Ms. Davis. Antony Starr plays a great baddie, just as he does as Homelander in The Boys. Yes, it at times has a similar feel to other "world leader in danger" type movies. But this one touches on some obvious current topics that can't, and shouldn't, be missed. The film handles it all with grit, determination and plenty of heart! Ignore those giving G20 the negative reviews. They apparently can't handle a woman being president... even in a movie!

Amazing & Action Packed

When a hostage crisis collides with a global summit, G20 delivers a gripping blend of high-stakes diplomacy and explosive action, anchored by a powerhouse performance from Viola Davis. As U. S. President Taylor Sutton, Davis brings commanding gravitas and emotional depth, elevating a genre that often trades character for chaos.

The film wastes no time dropping us into the thick of the G20 summit, where world leaders have gathered - only to find themselves besieged by terrorists with a deadly agenda. What follows is a taut, tightly-paced thriller that cleverly mixes geopolitical tension with the grit of a survival story. While the action sequences are slick and suspenseful, it's the behind-the-scenes maneuvering and moral dilemmas that give the film weight.

Director Patricia Riggen keeps the tempo brisk, never lingering too long on spectacle alone. There's a refreshing focus on strategy and intellect, with President Sutton outmaneuvering her enemies not just with force, but with wit and resolve. Jason Isaacs supports well as a steely National Security Advisor, but this is Davis's show from start to finish.

G20 is a smart, suspenseful ride that proves political thrillers can still pack both brains and brawn - especially when led by Viola Davis at her most commanding.

Badass action thriller!!

I love this movie so much!! It was a badass action thriller and I will definitely watch it again and again!! Love Viola Davis as the president and her characters connection with her secret service detail Manny was so amazing throughout the movie. I also loved so many of the characters of the other countries leaders and President Sutton's family too. I think this movie was done so well and with so much action packed goodness it was a thrill to experience. I don't know how it doesn't have a higher rating because it was awesome! Wish we had a kickass president like President Sutton instead of what we have.

Awesome movie! Viola was amazing!

Wow. Just wow. I just finished watching G20 on Prime Video and I honestly can't stop thinking about how incredible Viola Davis was. Like, she wasn't just good-she owned every single scene she was in. I don't usually go for political thrillers or action-heavy stuff, but this one completely pulled me in, mostly because of her.

She plays President Danielle Sutton, and not only is she the president, but also a former Army vet, and you feel every bit of that strength and experience in her performance. There's this perfect balance of calm, power, and emotion in the way she handles the chaos around her-terrorists, tech threats, world leaders freaking out. She just commands the screen without even trying too hard.

The movie itself is super intense-nonstop action, but not in a cheesy or over-the-top way. It's smart, it's fast, and it actually has something to say about leadership and resilience. I was on the edge of my seat the whole time. And the visuals? So good. The setting in South Africa gave it a totally different vibe than most action movies, which I really liked.

But seriously, Viola Davis is the heart of this film. She's fierce, she's vulnerable, she's brilliant. I've always known she was an amazing actress, but G20 proves she can absolutely carry a big action film too. Highly recommend it if you're looking for something gripping, powerful, and just really well done. She deserves all the awards for this.

Awesome Movie, Awesome Cast!

Forget about what haters are saying, this movie is great mix of action, thriller, and drama. Viola Davis and the rest of the cast are awesome in their acting. I love this movie, the cast is very multicultural and they really blend in very well. Movies don't always have to be 100% possible in real life, that's why they are movies!! I don't get people saying it's unrealistic, not scientifically possible, or not politically correct. WHO cares!!! The movie is good, the acting is great, I recommend watching this!! You'll enjoy it, I know I'll be watching again and recommending it to my friends and family!

Solid Film

I really enjoyed G20. Especially the combat scenes. I mean, Viola did her own stunts! That's crazy!

What stood out most to me, though, was the relationship between the mother and daughter. Their bond added so much heart to the movie and gave me something emotional to root for beyond the action.

All of the actors were great. It was fun see actors I'm used to seeing in a comedic role step into more serious one. It was easy to follow, easy to care about, and made for a really enjoyable watch.

I've seen a lot of people compare G20 to Die Hard and honestly, I don't see why that's a bad thing. I was here for it.

Overall, it feels good to have a solid film with high stakes, solid performances, and a reason to cheer in the end. G20 did exactly that.

Ms. Viola Davis is amazing!!

This movie is ticking people off in today's climate but let's talk about the movie. It was action packed, it showed a family trying to stay together and survive. It has action packed. Ms. Davis has the ability to play so many different characters. She brings elegance and class to every roll. It was interesting to see how they would play out the family dynamic while going through a very serious crisis and threat to all their lives. I thought it was a good cast and it stayed within the imagination, it didn't color outside the lines of the plot. It reminds me of that Harrison Ford movie Air Force One. It cool to see the President as this tough military background and a total badazz in a noble way.

Action Packed and Unpredictable

This movie is awesome. Viola played this role very well. She's always done well playing a woman of integrity and power. But in G20, she's now solidified her role as an action figure. Non-stop action from beginning to end. Finally an action film that's not only entertaining but highly unpredictable as well. The ending leaves room for a sequel. Not sure if that was the intent, but I'd love to see Viola Davis reprise her role as the President of the United States. Anthony Anderson was a very good choice to play the Second Gentleman. His star power did not over shadow Viola Davis at all. The couple was not only cohesive but very authentic and believable as well.

Definitely would recommend!

I just watch The Amateur the other night and this movie was WAAAAY better!! Viola Davis, Anthony Starr, and the rest of the cast give great performances and while the script isn't perfect, the movie doesn't suffer because it does what needs to be done! Very solid plot, great acting and great action! You really can't ask for a better action film. I don't know what movie some of the other reviewers saw but truly if you give this film a chance I really don't think you will be disappointed. Everyone plays their role excellently and the product is a fun , entertaining action film that feels both relevant to the genre and unique!

Trilling ride from start to finish

It's been a long time since an action movie managed to capture my attention so completely-but G20 did just that. From the very first scene to the final moment, I was glued to the screen, captivated by a storyline that combined suspense, intensity, and just the right dose of humor. If you're craving a film that knows how to deliver entertainment without skipping a beat, G20 is the one to watch.

The film follows a gripping premise: an intense hostage situation that unfolds at the G20 summit, led by a group of terrorists. While that may sound like familiar territory for fans of action thrillers, what G20 does differently is how it grounds the narrative through the powerful presence of its lead-portrayed brilliantly by Viola Davis. As the U. S. President thrust into a dire situation, Davis delivers a performance that is equal parts commanding and emotional. She doesn't just play a leader-she embodies one, and her portrayal elevates the film beyond its genre roots.

What stood out to me the most, though, was how the movie kept me fully engaged from start to finish. It's rare to find an action film that doesn't lag at some point or overindulge in exposition. But G20 keeps the momentum going with well-paced sequences, clever dialogue, and edge-of-your-seat action. I found myself thoroughly enjoying every bit of it.

One of the most refreshing aspects of G20 is its ability to blend intensity with lighter moments. The humor is sprinkled throughout in a way that feels natural, never forced. It adds a layer of realism and warmth to the characters, making them more relatable and human. There were several moments where I genuinely laughed, which was a nice surprise in the midst of all the chaos.

Then there are the fighting scenes-oh, the fighting scenes! This movie doesn't hold back. The choreography is sharp, raw, and immersive. Whether it's close-combat fights or larger coordinated action set pieces, the execution is flawless. The cinematography plays a huge role here too, capturing each punch, kick, and explosion with such intensity that you feel like you're right there in the middle of it.

Beyond the action, G20 subtly touches on themes of resilience, leadership under pressure, and global unity. It never becomes preachy, but it certainly has something to say. The script does a good job of allowing those deeper messages to shine through without overshadowing the action-packed plot.

The supporting cast also deserves a mention. Each character brings something unique to the table, from the tech-savvy aides to the brave security team trying to regain control. Their chemistry is palpable and helps build a believable world where every action has weight and consequence.

To sum it up, G20 is everything you want in a modern action film-smart, fast-paced, and emotionally grounded. It's been a while since a good action movie came out that checked all the boxes for me, but this one definitely did. It had heart, it had humor, and it had high-octane action that kept me fully entertained the entire time.

From the funny bits to the fierce fight scenes, G20 is a clear standout. For me, it's definitely a 10 out of 10.

A Great Watch

Not sure why there are low reviews. I didn't have a high expectation of anything special but was quite pleasantly entertained and enjoyed all of it. There was only one part that seemed unrealistic but other than that, it was really good. The husband who's very critical, enjoyed also. So I give it full stars. You will not disappointed unless you are just a critical person of all movies. All actors did a terrific job and were believable. Viola was excellent and Marsai's spirited character was definitely a needed addition. Please don't trust the low reviews and give it a watch, especially the below 5s. It is by far better than average.

Bad reviews are telling untruths!

This movie is great! Viola absolutely did her THING! There was great action and an engaging plot. It starts off with a bang and the pace keeps going. You get just enough backstory to see why Viola is who she is. Anthony Starr always plays a good bad guy. The ending was chef's kiss! I think the naysayers are just upset at the choice of who stars as president. I honestly don't know why anyone would trash this movie. I watched the preview a while ago and forgot about it. I'm glad I did so I was surprised at all the action scenes. Just watch for yourself and ignore the haters. I give it two thumbs up!
