Horst Drinda in Ich - Axel Caesar Springer (1968)

Goofs

Vom schweren Anfang

Ich - Axel Caesar Springer

Edit

Factual errors

It is said that Martha Meyer, Springers first wife, sent Springer money from England. It is very unlikely as it was actually Springer who supported her and sent her money and gave her a flat. They remained friends until his death in 1985.
Axel Springer and Rosemarie Alsen, who later became his third wife, first met in the late 1940s while in the movie they met in 1938/39. They also married in 1953.
The Radio (and later TV) guide magazine "Hör zu" was introduced in the movie as the first title for the lead press vehicle of the publishing house. However in real life it was called "Radio-Post" and later "Hört mit", which however was rejected by the British military government due to its similarity to the Nazi slogan "Feind hört mit". Only after that the magazine was called "Hör zu" in 1946.
Axel Springer was never married to a woman named Katrin-Brigitte Alsen. During World War 2 he was married to Erna Frieda Berta Holm and he married her in 1939, not in 1941.
Hinrich Springer didn't have a daughter as suggested in the movie, only one son Axel Springer.

Anachronisms

Werner Lorenz is always introduced as "Gruppenführer" in scenes after 1938 until 1941. However he was already "SS-Obergruppenführer" after 1936.
Walter Guinness was killed in 1944 while in the movie he joined the party at Alsens in the late 1940s.

Character error

During the movie Axel Springer is shown mentioning his middle name "Caesar" or the first letter C. In real life Springer hated his middle name and didn't mention it in public.
