The final blind auditions.
First up Nathalie Hernandez a 15-year-old from Florida who missed her own prom and brother's graduation for this. She sings "White Horse," by Taylor Swift. Christina and Blake turn immediately for this Swift soundalike, complete with shaky pitch and limited range and power. Eventually Adam turns as well. Only Cee Lo, wisely, holds out. She picks Christina.
Up next is Rod Michael who was in a successful boyband in Europe called B3. He went from riches to rags. He sings "Please Don't Go" by Mike Posner. He has a very boy band voice. Fine but bland and nasally. No one turns for him.
Up next is Caitlin Michele who has gotten through hard times with music. She has panic attacks that cause her to pass out. Singing was the only time she felt okay. Her dad gets misty with pride. She sings "Cosmic Love" by Florence + the Machine. She's on those dramatic types. She's a little shaky and has some pitch issues especially as she runs out of breath, and it sounds like she's doing a Flo impression. Blake turns and her pitch actually gets worse on all of those elongated notes. And then Adam turns. She picks Adam.
Next up is Nicole Johnson an aspiring country singer-songwriter her whole family decided mid-high school to move to Nashville so she could try to make it. She sings "Mr. Know-it-All" by Kelly Clarkson. She twangs it up. She's fine. Cee Lo turns first. Then Blake. She picks Blake.
Next up is Kameron Corvet who is a middle school French teacher who wants to devote himself to music. He sings "Crazy" by Seal, accompanying himself on guitar. He's got a nice falsetto croon but does seem nervous. He does a fine job but no one turns.
Next up is Chevonne who has backed up Lady Gaga on tour. This inspired her to pursue her own artistry. She sings "Brass in Pocket" by the Pretenders. She's totally fine, solid, consistent. Not particularly exciting. Everyone is urging Cee Lo to turn. They all seem to be grooving. Cee Lo and Blake simultaneously at the end. She picks Cee Lo.
Next up is Kayla Nevarez another teenager. Her sad story is that her dad has liver disease and can't be with her today. She sings "American Boy," by Estelle. She pushes it really hard bu ther voices is very girlish so... Adam turns first and then.... Christina... and then Cee Lo. Only Blake, unbelievably, holds out. She picks Adam.
Next up is Celica Westbrook who was close to being signed at 14 but it fell apart. Now she's 16. She sings "A Thousand Years" by Christina Perri. She sounds fine, a little breathy. Christina turns right away. As she demonstrates a little more power Cee Lo turns. And then Blake. Adam can't turn because his team is already full so she got three for three. She picks Christina.
Next up is a montage of people who couldn't get anyone to turn.
Next up is Jessica Cayne who currently works as a musician who thinks her biggest weakness is insecurity as a result of bullying and an eating disorder. She sings "Good Girl" by Carrie Underwood. She sounds solid. She's pushing a little hard on the high bits and is obviously nervous but she's keeping it under control. She does a great bit with her goodbye shoes at the end. But no one turns for her. Which is a shame because she was so much better than so many people they've put through.
Next up is Rudy Parris a 46-year-old rocker whose dreams were sidelined by family. He sings "Every Breath You Take" by the Police in a very quiet, slow acoustic arrangement accompanying himself on guitar. He's got a quality tone to his voice. The arrangement is dead boring but he sounds good. Blake turns. As he shows off more power Cee Lo turns as well. (Adam and Christina are full so he got two for two.) He chooses Blake whose team is now full. So Cee Lo's got all the power going forward.
Next up is Cody Belew who grew up on a farm and his dad was a bull rider. A bull rider who believes in his son. He believes in a past life he was an elderly black lady. He sings "Hard to Handle" by Otis Redding/the Black Crowes. He sounds good. His stage moves are a little goofy but he seems confident. Cee Lo turns at the very end. Cody is turned around though and he didn't see it. So when he realizes Cee Lo hit it and he says "shut your [expletive] mouth" and then runs and hugs Cee Lo and swears some more. It's hilarious. Thus, Cee Lo's team is complete.
The cockatoo approves of Cee Lo's team.
