Norfolk, Virginia, September 11, 1980: Kathleen Doyle, age 25, was found dead in her home. She was the wife of a U.S. Navy pilot who was deployed at the time of the homicide. With little evidence for investigators to go on, the murder case went cold. It heated up when prolific serial killer Henry Lee Lucas confessed to the murder. However, this confession turned out to be a hoax. The case went cold again for 33 years, until a DNA match pointed to Dennis Lee Bowman as the killer. In 2018, 38 years after the murder, Dennis Bowman was convicted of Kathleen Doyle's murder.
