- The economic powerhouse of Sao Paulo continues to attract immigrants dreaming of a new life. These new "Paulistanos" always seem willing to overcome cultural barriers in order to achieve a common objective - to seize an opportunity. No matter their background or reasons for coming, they have on thing in common, they all bring hopes and fears with them, as well as unique stories and experiences. Some of the immigrant groups that can be found in Brazil's largest city include Koreans, Africans, Argentinians, and Chileans, among others. Destination: Sao Paulo puts the lives of these foreigners under the microscope to look into their houses, ghettos, and their personal lives. Without stereotypes or prejudice, the miniseries paints an intimate portrait of the life of these people and their relationship with a city which can be both welcoming and harsh. Romanian Ileana comes to Rio de Janeiro to train a team of bodybuilders and ends up exploring tanned Carioca bodies in search of true love. Twenty years after his last show in Rio de Janeiro, American rock n' roller Vince discovers that he left much more than his heart in the amazing city. Paths cross, as lives become interwoven, with glimpses of everyday life in an international city: an inexhaustible source of stories.—HBO Latin America
