tepid material with effective casting
It is a culture's duty to take care of its elderly...but such is not the case for Joe, Willie, and Albert, three lifelong friends and senior citizens living in N.Y.C. who discover that their company's pensions are being revoked. Acting out of desperation, the three of them form a plan (not necessarily a good one) to rob a bank and get the financial security they so desperately crave, but are these three golden boys equipped to pull it off? Likable but disposable comedy-heist film unfolds pretty much the way you'd expect it to, but is short on laughs or creativity, and is really only made worthwhile thanks to the work of Caine, Freeman, and Arkin who play well off one another; stale and harmless. **
