"Priyatel Skelet" translates from Bulgarian (the language being used as Pokolistanian) into English as "Skeleton Friend".
The Alpha wolf that Weasel befriends resembles "Wolf" Connor Kent's genetically modified wolf from "Young Justice".
The Bride and Nina hide in brothel with the sign "Gal Gal" over the door. This would make it the Gal Gal Bordello. Many of the songs for the first season are from the band Gogol Bordello, including in this episode the song playing over the montage of Dr. Phosphorus coming to power.
Near the end, the Commandos gather together like Buckaroo Banzai's crew did in the end credits of The Adventures of Buckaroo Banzai Across the 8th Dimension.
