Inspired by the life of Pierdante Piccioni, who suffers from retrograde amnesia--namely, forgetting the last 12 years of his life as a result of a car accident. He gradually rebuilds his life and tries to reconstruct those memories through photos and stories from his wife and friends. His life would be dramatized on the Italian Television series DOC - Nelle tue mani (2020).
The parameters found on the film generated from a Phillips CT/ MRI machine:
- IMA - Image
- TP - Table Position
- SP - Slice Position
- Tra - Traversal scan or horizantal scan, scan that includes digital slices that spans from the left shoulder to right
- Cor - Coronal scan (Coronal is derived from Latin which means crown), scan that includes digital slices that span from the head to the feet
- Sag - Sagittal scan ( Sagittal derives from the Latin word sagitta, meaning "arrow"), scan that includes digital slices that span from the front to back. A good mnemonic trick, to remember this type of scan, think arrow piercing the chest all the way through to the other side of the body.
TTE is short for TransThoracic Echocardiography and TEE is short for TransEsophageal Echocardiography. Both are imaging techniques used to examine the heart. TTE is the most common type of echocardiogram, while TEE is invasive and more expensive. TTE, is a noninvasive or minimally invasive procedure that uses a transducer on the chest wall to capture images of the heart, TEE on the other hand, is an invasive procedure that uses a specialized probe inserted into the esophagus to capture images of the heart. TTE, is a quick screening tool to detect obvious for cardiac structural abnormalities , while TEE, used to provide clearer or more detailed images of the heart, especially the back of the heart .
Romberg's test: A physical exam that assesses balance and the function of the spinal cord's dorsal column. The test is named after European neurologist Mortiz Romberg, who developed it in the 19th century. To perform the test, a patient stands with their feet together and arms at their sides or crossed in front, and closes and opens their eyes while a healthcare provider observes for signs of imbalance. The test is used to diagnose balance problems related to proprioception, the body's ability to sense its position and movements. It can also help identify disequilibrium caused by head trauma, central vertigo, or peripheral vertigo. The Romberg test is often used to diagnose multiple sclerosis (MS)
