  • A love story with believable characters and some warmly funny moments/situations.

There are a few surprises, but in general, this is not the first film to tackle a similar plot. But that's necessarily a thing. The journey is what matters.

Unfortunately I did not get the references to the differences between Mexican and Argentinian pronunciation, but its not a big deal. (I watched in Spanish with subtitles)

If you're looking for a fun romantic comedy that will make you laugh, this film is probably for you. Might have been just a tad too long, but one tip. Wait for the final scene after the credits.
  • Warning: Spoilers
Most of us are American who use IMBD, this is a foreign film and it's dubbed with English words which most of the time match up the close caption.

It was a pleasure to experience Argentina. The characters grew on me as I watch them develop. I enjoyed the end the most which I thought the writing was well done and I raised my score from 6 to 7 because of the ending. The emotion actually brought tears to my eyes and I am a big fan of truth and honesty and it came out at the end. This might be considered a spoiler so I will mention it. This movie was well directed and was professionally made, Enjoy!
  • I was ready to bail on this one early in the movie.

An insecure woman, working as a bartender in Mexico City, at a bar she sort of co-owns with her two friends. She's so insecure that she takes pictures of everything, mostly staged, and posts them on social media to make people think she is having a GREAT time, and living a GREAT life.

    Ho hum.

The three women are practically drooling over a hot dude who's sitting at their bar. The insecure bartender makes a bet with them that she can make him fall in love with him, after they chide her about her suspected made up events.

Turns out he's quite drunk, giving her an excuse and opportunity to walk him back to his hotel.

That leads to a pretty predictable outcome. I had my hand on the remote, and was about to ask my date if we should just bail, but he looked like he was having a good time, and I just turned back toward the screen.

Well, the first predictable outcome led to some less predictable outcomes. And that's when I thought the film started to get a little more interesting. The guy is a looker, so that made it interesting too.

She has to follow him from Mexico to his home in Argentina to try to win the bet with her friends, because he hasn't fallen in love after that first encounter.

It starts to get really interesting when the dude's mother arrives, and starts sizing things up. Interesting, and very entertaining as the plot thickens - and starts to twist like a bowl of spaghetti.

There's lots of situation comedy, laughs and warmth to the movie. A very enjoyable RomCom.

Ultimately, the movie is very funny, touching, and entertaining.

The ending didn't twist to quite where I expected. It turned out to be a very enjoyable evening, and I'm really glad I stuck with this one!
