- Diggle and Felicity return to the island to convince Oliver to return as the Arrow.
- It's been five months since the death of Tommy Merlyn and the destruction of the Glades. Oliver has been living alone on the island where he was marooned for 5 years. Digg and Felicity want him to return to Starling City and he agrees for his family's sake but he refuses to put on the hood. Roy and Thea are still together but she's not too keen on his efforts to deal with drug dealers. She's been running the nightclub during Oliver's absence but hasn't visited her mother. Queen Consolidated is in trouble and Isabel Rochev is out to gain control. Oliver turns to Walter Steele for help. Laurel Lance has joined the District Attorney's office and is present at a fund-raiser when the mayor is gunned down by vigilantes seeking revenge for what happened in the Glades. They then turn their sights on Oliver. In flashbacks to Oliver's time on the island, 5 months have passed since they stopped Fryers but they find others are on the island. Shado is soon taken prisoner.—garykmcd
- Oliver returned five month on the island, unsettled by Tommy's death, for which he feels guilty. Roy braves scared Thea's wining about the risk of him dealing with drug scum, in honor of Green Arrow. Diggle and Smoke risk traveling to the island to implore Oliver's return, arguing he shouldn't feel a guilty failure but do good as his father wished and died for. Queen Industries is in danger of a hostile takeover by Isabel Rochev without a family CEO, so Oliver teams up with Walter, now CFO. Vigilantes demanding revenge for the Glades' destruction shoot the mayor at a fund-raising benefit also attended by Laurel, now a D.A.'s assistant.—KGF Vissers
- Open with Digs and Felicity arriving at a remote island. They are there to find Queen, who has been hiding out on the island since the earthquake. Tommy is dead, Starling City was decimated and he doesn't wish to return. But they tell him his mother is awaiting trial and his family's company is about to experience a hostile takeover.
We see Queen, Slade and Fei's daughter Shado living and training together on the island while trying to find a way off. Queen and Shado are in a romantic relationship. A sensor goes off and they see several armed men are on the island just outside their perimeter.
In present day we see Queen return to a Starling City in ruin. Felicity shows him a file on Isabel Rochev, executive for the company pushing for the hostile takeover of Queen Consolidated.
We see Thea is still with Roy. She is upset that he continues to fight crime. Thea now owns Queen's nightclub and he's impressed with how organized his sister has become.
Laurel now works for the District Attorney. We see her at a benefit for earthquake relief. During the Mayor's speech four armed men wearing hoods arrive and give a version of Arrow's "you have failed" speech before killing the mayor. Laurel stops one of them from killing the DA. Afterwards Lance arrives. He's been demoted to beat cop
Queen and Laurel catch up. She thinks she made a mistake sleeping with him, feeling she like she betrayed Tommy and no longer can make it right.
We see the armed vigilantes discuss going after Queen himself. They think that since Queen's Applied Sciences division created the machine that caused the earthquake, he should pay.
Roy asks Thea about seeing her mother. Thea says she's trying to hurt Moira, but Roy wonders if she hurting herself instead.
Queen meets with Isabel. Both her company and Queen have 45 percent of the controlling stock. Ten percent is about to be released and when she buys it Queen will be out. Queen appears not to be in any financial place to buy the stock himself, and his company's reputation is so poor there will likely be no investors. During the meeting the armed men arrive to grab Queen. He helps Felicity and Isabel avoid harm, but does not fight back.
Afterwards Digs and Felicity ask Queen why he didn't take on the armed men. Digs realizes that Queen is bothered by Tommy's death, and what is friend though of The Hood. Queen thinks he should have stayed on the island.
We flash back to fives years earlier on the island. Shado leaves the men to find a better position to observe the intruders. They hear a noise and find she has been taken.
Queen goes to see Moira in prison. They talk about Thea and the family business. She warns Queen not to trust Isabel and he tells her he's not sure what to do.
Thea tells Roy she'll go see her mother if he stops his late-night vigilante antics. At that moment the armed vigilantes arrive and say they are looking for Queen. When nobody will tell them where he is, they say they are going to start shooting people until he shows up. Roy steps up and starts to fight them off. He knocks the glove off of one of the men and sees it looks like he was wearing a prosthetic. One of them grabs Thea and tells him to back off. They grab her and leave.
Queen arrives and heads to his Arrow lair, which Felicity has dramatically updated. "We need to find these guys," Queen says. They search a veteran database and find an ex-marine named Jeff Deveau who had an amputation on his hand. He lost his hand (and his wife) in the earthquake. Using Deveau's phone records Felicity finds a program called Standing Strong at a church.
Back in the island flashback Queen wants to go after Shado, but Slade isn't so sure. A man holds a knife to Shado's neck and asks her "where are the graves?" Queen rushes forwards with Slade backing him up and knocks the man down. Queen then beats the man to death with a rock.
At the church the men talk about what to do with Thea. When they start to blame Moira for the earthquake Thea explains Malcolm's role in the disaster. The men aren't convinced and one of them pulls out a gun. At this point Arrow arrives and saves the day. Arrow leaves the men alive for Lance, telling him "I'm trying another way."
Laurel runs into Queen at Tommy's grave. He says he understands why they can't be together, but wants her in his life.
Thea visits her mother in prison. She tells Moira about her near-death experience and her mother says Thea has helped her get through tough times. They embrace.
Queen brings in Walter, now CFO for a bank in town, to tell Isabel he's been loaned financing for the five percent of outstanding stock. That means Queen and Isabel's company are now partners. Walter and Queen exchange kind words.
Flash back to the island. Slade grabs a walkie talkie from one of the men and says "the question is, where did they come from?" We see a ship just off the shore.
In present day Thea calls Roy about visiting Moira. He lies to her about being at dinner and goes in to break-up a mugging. When things start going poorly a masked blond wearing a superhero-type outfit jumps in and takes out all the bad guys.
Queen tells Digs and Felicity that he needs to be the man "Tommy hoped I could be." He no longer wants to be called The Hood, and glances down at the head of one of the his arrows.
