Dong Jin runs into Mi Jung, the girl who was branded as a witch in their high school. He follows her to her home without realizing it and sees how she's still suffering from the curse she's rumoured to have. Dong Jin decides to find out the law of the curse so he can help lift it and save Mi Jung.

Mi Jeong, who couldn't stand the rumour of her being a witch and the boys from the same school getting hurt and dying, drops out of school. But the same rumour spreads in her village, leaving her no choice but to hide from everyone. Her father decides to take her to Seoul, but an unfortunate accident kills her father as well.

Kim Jung Hyeok is a loner who attracts Lee Dong Jin attention in statistics class. After numerous attempts, Dong Jin gains his friendship. Dong Jin writes a report on Mi Jeong, disproving claims on her being a witch.

After his mother's death, Lee Dong Jin finds the report he wrote proving Park Mi Jeong wasn't a witch, except that his professor later deems it rubbish. When Dong Jin revises the report, he found a disturbing pattern. Now that he has found Mi Jeong, he wants to break the curse and return the life she has lost.

Lee Dong Jin returns to his hometown where it all began. He gathered his high school friends, including Seo Da Eun, who was close to Park Mi Jeong since middle school. He explained what he was trying to do and what he needed from them, then he interviewed all the people that were hurt after having some contact with or proximity to Mi Jeong. From there, he stated his hypothesis. After a slight injury with a jammed tape measure, he realized he met all of the criteria.

Dong Jin has missing data from Mi Jeong's university days, so he reaches out to Heo Eun Sil via Im Ik Jong. Eun Sil was more than happy to help, and they find injuries and one death due to Mi Jeong's proximity. Then, Dong Jin said he was ready to test the theory using himself.

Data Verification: As Lee Dong Jin has delineated his hypotheses, he wants to be able to prove or disprove each of them. Since he knows he love Min Jeong, he thinks he's the perfect test subject. He gets a job delivering her weekly groceries and notes the details of their interactions. Apart from those days, he goes to her building, goes within 10m of her door while timing his presence there, then seeing what accident befalls him. The hospital doctor starts to worry about him. So does Heo Eun Sil.

The final suspense is started in this season. I forgot the time and everything when watching. The amazing director and actors, this type of story, the male lead's love for statistics is mind-blowing, and the reveal that the female lead also knows the death rules was surprising.

Park Mi Jeong receives a USB with photos of her childhood home and an apology video from her former best friend, Seo Da Eun, bringing a sense of closure. With their busy schedules, Kim Jung Hyeok and Lee Dong Jin don't always get a chance to catch up, but it was a surprise when Heo Eun Sil tells Jung Hyeok that Dong Jin is missing. The two of them work together to figure out where Dong Jin may have gone. They scour his computer and Jung Hyeok even approaches Mi Jeong with unexpected results.

Kim Jung Hyeok reveals to Mi Jeong that he too shares the same "curse" as she does, then he proceeds to share Dong Jin's data with her. Jung Hyeok also reveals where Dong Jin has gone. As it turns out it's her number one place to visit, and they meet in Austria, exactly the town where her postcard was from. Back in Seoul, Jung Hyeok has started to suspect Heo Eun Sil is interested in him, so he keeps his distance at 10+ meters and their conversations short. Eun Sil eventually gets tired of it and confesses to him.
