After Hans Niemann defeated world champion Magnus Carlsen in a shock upset, Carlsen withdrew from the tournament the following day -the first time he has ever dropped out of a competition -amid widespread speculation Niemann had cheated. One theory claimed Niemann had received instructions via anal beads.
