Nina Hartley holds a special place in Adult Cinema, one of its greatest actresses and a thoughtful expert on its history and subject matter. Nica Noelle provides her with an empathetic role as a lonely empty-nester, naturally attracted to her college-kid daughter's new boyfriend, played without frills by Xander Corvus.
What makes this familiar tale work is Nina's ability to project empathy and hint at bottled up passions, porn's only equivalent to the many mainstream actresses of those "women's pictures" of decades back. In particular, she seems to have channeled the understated power of Shirley Booth, circa her triumphant "About Mrs. Leslie".
Lexi Belle is well-cast as the daughter, and in the strict "4 sex scenes" format of the Sweet Sinner label she also gets to bed down with Xander. Tanya Tate is a welcome presence, shoe-horned into the script as Hartley's best friend, worried about the lonely lady's future, and seen humping away with her husband Mr. Pete. Rounding out the cast is that superstar of days gone by, Dyanna Lauren, looking great in flashback as a previous MILF conquest for Xander.
