Some occasional mild innuendo. Yasaburo at one point takes on the form of a pretty young girl in a comic attempt to seduce his older professor; it's implied he flashes a passerby at one point by lifting his/her skirt, though we don't actually see this happen.

Brief, nondescript partial nudity. We infrequently see bare buttocks in bathhouse scenes. There is also a brief moment in which we see a girl flying nude from the side; her breasts and buttocks are partially seen, but not detailed.

While the physical violence on-screen mainly consists of mild slapstick, a major part of the plot involves an incident in which a character was killed and eaten. We never actually see how this happened, though we see the events leading up to how it occurred.

Occasional use of mild coarse language ('damn', 'hell', 'ass', 'crap') in the official subtitles. Rare use of moderate language ('shit').

Some occasional mild crude humor, mainly referring to tanuki biting each other's butts or, in one instance, their genitals. There is also some brief humor relating to defecation. Overall, about on the level of a slightly cruder children's cartoon.

Characters are frequently seen drinking and are occasionally seen intoxicated. The negatives of drunkenness are also seen and play a part in the storyline.
