To be honest I don't usually look at documentaries and criticise any of the actual editting or questions. With that being said, I felt it necessary to write a review to say this subject of this documentary has been entirely failed by the director. The momentum stops and starts and the talking is slow and miserable. The background music will put you to sleep and then all of a sudden someone has said something important that you need to rewind to take note of.
I have no doubt some of the things that happened to the people in this "documentary" were horrendous, but it jumps around too much and too slowly to notice what's going on.

Grade school kids in the 70's had absolute freedom. Go out in the morning and be back for dinner or at dusk.
Then they're teens in the 80's and you expect them to be completely different people?
No diagnoses for adhd. Parents who never parented when their kids were small, suddenly have zero clues on how to handle a growing child. Pedophiles all still hidden. Kids not believed.
Was this guy a doctor? A psychiatrist?
Does he take responsibility?
Oh, I was far away!
And the wife is a liar.
"Those programs were expensive to run." Right.
They're underfed. And sleeping on the ground in the desert.
And the wife buys a horse.
