The three main leads have all had roles in Marvel Comics adaptations. Dakota Johnson played Cassandra Webb in Madame Web (2024), Chris Evans played Steve Rogers / Captain America in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, and Pedro Pascal is set to play Reed Richards in The Fantastic Four: First Steps (2025).
This marks the second time that director-writer Celine Song has collaborated with production company Killer Films and distributor A24, both of whom were also involved with Song's debut feature, Past Lives (2023).
