- Goon: [as he's stealing Dust, he notices a girl with a hood reading a magazine. He draws a sword] All right, kid, hands where I can see them.
- [the girl doesn't seem to hear him]
- Goon: Hey, I said hands in the air! You got a death wish or something?
- [Puts his hand on the girl's shoulder, causing her to turn her head, revealing she's listening to music on headphones]
- Ruby Rose: Hmm?
- [the goon points to his ear, indicating for her to take off her headphones, which she does]
- Ruby Rose: Yes?
- Goon: I said put your hands in the air, now!
- Ruby Rose: Are you... robbing me?
- Goon: Yes!
- Ruby Rose: [Narrows her eyes] Oh...
- Ozpin: What is an adorable girl such as yourself doing at a school designed to train warriors?
- Ruby: Well, I want to be a Huntress.
- Ozpin: You want to slay monsters?
- Ruby: Yeah. I only have two more years of training left at Signal and then, I'm gonna apply to Beacon. See, my sister's starting there this year and she's trying to become a Huntress and I'm trying to become a Huntress, 'cause I want to help people. My parents always told us to help others, so I thought I might as well make a career out of it. I mean, the police are all right, but Huntsmen and Huntresses are just so much more romantic and exciting and cool

- Ruby: You're Prof. Ozpin. You're the headmaster at Beacon.
