Summaries

  • Stuart brags to anyone and everyone about his pending night out with Kimberly. Later, he drives Wade, Jessica and Kives around to some parties, including Amelia's birthday, where Jessica relishes that the tables have turned with Amelia.

Synopsis

  • Stuart (Stephen Merchant) is showing pictures of Kimberly (Heather Hahn) to Rory (Kyle Mooney) and bragging about his upcoming date with her.

Glen (Sean King) is helping Jessica pack up her studio; now that she has a TV role, she can move out of the studio. She's been getting good press. They stop to have sex.

When Stuart sees Glen leaving Jessica's studio, Stuart catches him and reminds him that he can visit anytime even though Jessica is moving out. He makes sure Glen knows he has a date with Kimberly, the model.

Wade is working out hard at the gym. Then he drops Cassidy back off at Marion's house, for the first time not stopping to ask her about getting together. Marion watches him walk off.

Stuart is driving Jessica, Wade, and Kives in his car. Wade is explaining how he's not going to pine after Marian anymore but instead work on himself. Stuart shows Kives a picture of Kimberly. They tease Stuart about a girl he dated long ago, "Cyclops Cindy."

Stuart calls Glen to invite him, but he says it'll be a while until he's available.

Inside the club, Amelia (Jenny Slate), Jessica's frenemy, is celebrating her birthday. Jessica gives Amelia an expensive birthday present and brags about her job.

Kimberly texts Stuart and tells him to come to the club where she is. But he's not on the guest list so the bouncer doesn't let him in. He eventually gets in because Kives joins him and is mistaken for a veteran and he pays $20 each for Wade and Jessica to join. As soon as they get in, Kimberly texts again to tell Stuart she's at a party in the Hills. The bouncer doesn't give him his money back and Stuart throws a hissy fit over the $40.

Stuart is driving Jessica, Wade, and Kives around looking for the party where Kimberly is, but he's lost and his phone is losing power. Kimberly finally texts the address and they drive into the hills, where Stuart leaves his car with a valet service.

He rushes into the party to find Kimberly; however, she's already moved on to a party in Malibu.

Glen calls Jessica and gives her the bad news that she has lost her role in the show. According to him, she didn't test well with the test audience. She thanks him for letting her know and pretends everything is OK.

Wade doesn't want to go to Malibu and instead wants to go to a bowling alley where Marion is. Stuart tells him he needs to get on with his life. Wade leaves the party. Jessica tells Stuart she's not feeling well and she and Wade walk down the street to get a cab. Jessica gives Stuart a breath mint and tells him to keep the whole box.

Stuart is too impatient to wait for the valet so he runs after his car.

Jessica and Wade are walking along the road making "Yip!" noises to scare off coyotes. Jessica says to him, "Sometimes you have to give up on something no matter how much you want it." She's talking to Wade about Marian but also about her own hopes for fame.

Kives realizes he's been abandoned at the party but is taken care of by several women.

Jessica returns to her half-packed studio, bursts into tears, and lies on her bed. She leaves a voice mail for Glen asking him to come over because she's feeling so bad.

Stuart has found Kimberly at the Malibu party and they greet each other with a hug. They do shots together. He sees Glen at the party and Glen tells him not to tell Jessica he's there. Stuart asks why, and Glen explains that she's sad because she was re-cast and he doesn't "want to deal with that."

Kimberly takes Stuart to the beach with a bottle of champagne and suggests night swimming. She understand goes into the water. Stuart starts to join her and pops a mint first. Looking at the mint box, he's reminded of Jessica. He pulls his clothes back on and tells Kimberly he has to leave.

Wade is in his apartment. He crops his wife out of the picture of him with his daughter.

Stuart appears at Jessica's door and knocks. She asks how it went with Kimberly and Stuart lies, saying he never found her. Jessica tells him that she's ben re-cast, and Stuart says he's sorry. He invites her to watch a film in his living room, letting her choose the movie.
