Yang Jing Lan rescues Ji Ying Ying but she refuses to leave, fearing the King would seek revenge on the workers. Ying Ying and Prince Bai work on the new brocade but he wants more from her. Yang Jing Lan is ambushed by Prince Bai's people.
Yang Jing Lan's defeat landed him in the dungeon. Ji Ying Ying is finally working alongside the artisans. She arranges a mid-Autumn gathering, encouraging all to work together towards their goal, so they can return home in a year's time.
When Tang soldiers show up at the Nanzhou border, Prince Bai is blamed. The King wants to secure him in the Palace, but the Prince asks to solve this by using Yang Jing Lan. The artisans made progress, ran into issues and are losing hope.
Yang Jing Lan and Sang Shi Si reach Chang'an to meet with the Crown Prince. Plans are made to overthrow the traitor Military Comm. Niu Jin. The Nanzhao King agrees to let the artisans leave after successfully creating the Nanzhao brocade.
Yang Jing Lan and Niu Jin face off when Niu Jin's hiding spot was revealed. In Nanzhao, Du Yan continues his underhanded ways to punish Ji Ying Ying for his humiliation. Sang Shi Si gets the remaining artisans ready to head home.
