Will adapt, or at least heavily borrow many elements from, Dune Messiah, Frank Herbert's 1969 sequel to the original book
"Dune Messiah" is the second of six books in Frank Herbert's original Dune series. A seventh and final book was planned by Herbert, but he died before completion. His son, however, Brian Herbert, used notes and storyboards left behind his father to finish the seventh book. Brian, and his writing partner Kevin J. Anderson, split the seventh book into two parts, "Hunters of Dune" and "Sandworms of Dune," which released in 2006 and 2007, respectively.
"In August 2024, a Brazilian fan created a petition for Aidan Gallagher to be considered for the role of Leto II Atreides, son of Paul Atreides, in the adaptation of Dune's Messiah. The idea is for the character to have a special appearance, reflecting his brief appearance in the book."
