Rugmangadan (Hakim Shahjahan) wakes up in his car, narrowly escaping some approaching goons, only to encounter them again later. Tripura Sundari, known as Akkamma (Poornima Indrajith), is the original owner of the bed, a Tamil-speaking woman still in love with her estranged husband and deeply attached to the bed they once shared. Akkamma constantly laments the loss of her husband and obsesses over the bed. The current occupant of the bed is Madhumiya (Priyamvada Krishnan), a woman in her late twenties searching for a job and renting a room in Akkamma's house, while also exploring her strained relationship with her father.
