The comedian will front the 83rd iteration of the TV and film awards, which will take place in January 2026 and air on CBS.

Glaser was the first woman to ever host the Globes solo and went down a treat with viewers. She scored the gig after her star turn on Netflix’s The Roast of Tom Brady, telling Deadline before the awards ceremony that the roast slot got her on “some important people’s radar”.

During January’s ceremony, she walked the line between gentle roast and tribute.

Nikki Glaser called out beauty standards and joked about having to wake up at the crack of dawn to open The Hollywood Reporter’s annual Women in Entertainment gala, presented by Lifetime, on Wednesday at The Beverly Hills Hotel.

The host of “The Daily Show” used his opening monologue to defend the controversial roast comedian, and instead put the blame for his viral remarks on the Trump campaign for inviting him in the first place.

Hinchcliffe was one of the speakers at Trump’s Madison Square Garden rally on Sunday. During his set, he likened Puerto Rico to a “floating island of garbage.” His remarks were instantly met with a backlash from both Republicans and Democrats, including condemntations from Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez, Bad Bunny, Jennifer Lopez and Ricky Martin.

Danny Amendola had a magical night on Dancing with the Stars and didn’t hesitate to call out his former teammate, Tom Brady.

The former NFL star experienced movie magic as he and his dance partner recreated an iconic opening scene from this year’s box office smash Deadpool and Wolverine.

Danny donned a red and black costume for their dance routine to match Marvel’s Deadpool, and Witney Carson wore an outfit similar to Wolverine’s yellow and black X-Men costume.

YouTube has become Netflix‘s biggest rival in the world of streaming. The latter company’s Co-CEO thinks that his platform’s superlative stories are still a difference maker, but is his view outdated?

Ted Sarandos was asked about YouTube during Netflix’s Q3 2024 earnings call. Those two platforms account for half of all streaming traffic, but Sarandos still believes his SVOD service has a competitive edge over YouTube.

“Netflix is the best place for premium stories because we’re the home to the best storytellers,” Sarandos said. “When I look at YouTube specifically, I’d say look, we compete directly with YouTube for people’s time, for the time they spend on that TV screen. But we have very different strengths.”

While the most-watched seasons of TV during the six-month interval included “Fool Me Once,” “Bridgerton” Season 3, “Baby Reindeer” and “The Gentlemen,” a group of winners have arisen from the data dump, including children’s TV as a whole — including “Peppa Pig” — “Young Sheldon” and buzzy crime docs like “Ashley Madison: Sex, Lies & Scandal.”

Netflix is putting its money where its mouth is. Company co-ceo Ted Sarandos harangued other streaming executives this week for not being more transparent, and Netflix followed up his words by following through with another data dump regarding how much viewership it received in the first half of 2024. British TV was the biggest genre of the year for the streamer, with titles like “Bridgerton,” “Fool Me Once” and the controversy-generating “Baby Reindeer” compiling tens of millions of views.

Netflix saw a British invasion in the first six months of the year — with four of its 10 biggest shows globally in the first half of 2024 coming from the U.K.: “Fool Me Once,” the Emmy-winning “Baby Reindeer,” “The Gentlemen” and “One Day.”

In addition, Shonda Rhimes’ U.K.-set “Bridgerton” Season 3 was the No. 2 most-watched show worldwide from January-June 2024. The season notched a whopping 91.9 million views in less than two months following its May 14 premiere. All told, shows in the “Bridgerton” universe garnered 189 million views in the first half of 2024; views in the six-month period for “Queen Charlotte: A Bridgerton Story” hit 24 million (doubling versus the second half of last year) while views of of “Bridgerton” seasons 1 and 2 jumped fivefold compared with the prior six months.

Shonda Rhimes’ show is commissioned out of the U.S. but made in the UK with British acting talent.

Comedian Jeff Ross thinks roasting can help heal our world, and Netflix’s “The Roast of Tom Brady” was a huge step in the right direction.
