Roosters Season 1 Review: Laughter and Self-Discovery in Amsterdam

Roosters launches in the Netherlands, tracking four longtime friends—Mike, Ivo, Danny and Greg—through storms of shifting gender roles. It opens at a seminar on toxic masculinity, an ironic rite of passage where reluctant attendees confess traits they once dismissed. Mike, ousted as head of network content in favor of a younger female executive, grapples with bruised pride as his partner, Stevie, reinvents herself on social media to keep their household afloat.

Ivo faces parental upheaval when his teenage daughter returns home and his ex arranges dating experiments via swipe culture. Danny prepares a marriage proposal hidden inside molten chocolate until his partner proposes an open relationship instead. It’s a busy end to February on Netflix UK with 45 new additions to the library this week, including Illumination’s Super Mario Bros movie, Kate Hudson’s new Netflix comedy Running Point, and every episode of the first season of Pokemon Horizons.

First of all, here are the week’s highlights:

‘High Tides’ Season 2 Finally Confirms New Netflix Release Date After Delay

The Belgian series High Tides (Knokke Off as it’s known in Belgium) is finally returning to Netflix for its second season. First premiering in December 2023, the Dutch drama follows a group of wealthy teens facing the harsh realities of adulthood. It entered the top 10s in 45 countries and spent 3 weeks in the global top 10 charts.

The release date for High Tides season 2 was initially set for January 31st, 2025, although the show ultimately was a no-show on Netflix’s January 2025 schedule list, and no public announcement has come about when it will arrive. However, we’ve now got word that the second season shifted its release by around two months and is now set to touch down on Netflix globally on March 21st. Netflix has already added the new season in the Netherlands, where it’s now spent 3 weeks in their top 10s.

A new month is just around the corner, but Netflix is concluding in February with some big new releases. Below, we’ll be tackling all the new confirmed titles on the way to Netflix (specifically in the US – other regions’ lineups will vary) with headline titles, including the debuts of Venom: The Last Dance and Despicable Me 4, plus some big new Netflix Originals.
