The title is a homage to Danmarks Radio's short wave radio sender in Gisseløre, Kalundborg, that since 1927 made it possible to reach listeners countrywide. The Kalundborg transmitter was closed at the end of 2023.

This TV special marked Lis Jacobsen's retirement as conductor of Radioens Pigekor. She had been conducting the choir for 23 years ever since its formation in 1938 and was regarded a pioneer in musical education of children and young people.
