    Rescued bobcat kitten, Kitchi, from Busch Garden's official Staff veterinarian, Dr. Pete, DVM and Kris Porter, Zoologist of affiliate Owl's Nest Sanctuary of Wildlife of Tampa transferred the young kitten once stabilized in this history making transfer from Florida Fish and Game through Louisiana Dept. of Wildlife and Fisheries to The Louisiana Bobcat Refuge for long term rehabilitation ( 12 months minimum for predation skill development and long term evaluation to ready it for the wild release back to Mother Nature. Internationally permitted and certified Bobcat Behaviourist and Rehabilitator, Pamela Kay Connery, along with primary BREC Zoo veterinarian, Dr. Gordon Pirie, DVM worked on the initial intake. The Louisiana Bobcat Refuge is one of the only species specific bobcat, lynx and smaller exotic felid rescue, rehab and permanent refuge long term facilities in the United States, assisting all rescues and other facilities pro bono as a 501c3 charity.
