The boom is on the way!

This is a fantastic story that beautifully showcases the rich history of basketball in Canada. Inbound highlights the strength and courage displayed by these athletes (and their families). The footage and camera angles bring the player's stories to life. The interviews are captivating and the blend of old footage adds a unique and engaging dimension to the narrative. You don't need to be a basketball fan or Canadian to enjoy this film. The movie is truly inspiring and serves as a powerful example for the next generation! A short film that you won't be disappointed watching. The boom is on the way!

More than a game, Canada's immigrant journey through basketball

Inbound is one of those films that just sticks with you. It's not your typical basketball movie-it's a heartfelt look at Canadian basketball culture and the incredible players who bring it to life. The film radiates a profound love for the game, intertwining its narrative with the immigrant experience-depicting how a collection of diverse cultures, united by the game, channel their relentless drive, determination and passion to overcome struggles and build something greater.

What really sets Inbound apart is how it honors family ties. It's not only about the players; it's about the parents and communities who lift them up and make every moment on the court even more meaningful. The narrative doesn't merely recount a game; it tells a love story-a love for a country that has reimagined basketball with its innovative spirit, a sport that, in its very essence, feels as if it was reinvented on Canadian soil.

Visually, the film is stunning. The cinematography feels like art, with creative framing and gorgeous visuals that pull you right into the heart of the game. The sound engineering mirrors this artistic brilliance, creating an emotional pulse that synchronizes with the beat of a bouncing ball, echoing the highs and lows of each moment with precision and soul.

Uplifting and transformative, Inbound is a love letter to Canada and its vibrant basketball culture. It reminds us that every pass, every shot, and every cheer is a celebration of unity, resilience, and the power of dreams. I wholeheartedly encourage everyone to watch this film.

An Immigration Story-Through Canadian Basketball

An astonishingly edited and directed look into how Canadian basketball has been shaped by changes in immigration policy. Featuring some truly powerful interviews with NBA player families and Canadian NBA players themselves, Inbound weaves highlights galore with immigrant stories from across the nation. From the west coast to the east coast, Canada has began to produce some absolute talent in the NBA, with one (SGA) pretty close to getting MVP honours this season. But how has Canadian talent improved so much over the years? Inbound answers this question with an amazingly crafted narrative through the lense of immigrant stories.

A Canadian Dream

Inbound is a great documentary about how basketball became big in Canada and produced NBA stars. It shows how the sport grew from local courts to the world stage, thanks to hard work, community support, and a love for the game.

The movie also highlights how immigration has shaped Canada's basketball scene. Many players and their families came to Canada from different parts of the world, bringing their passion for the game and adding to the country's diversity. This mix of cultures has helped make Canadian basketball unique and strong.

The movie is easy to watch, with great highlights, heartfelt interviews, and a fun soundtrack. It's not just for basketball fans-it's for anyone who likes stories about chasing dreams and making an impact. Inbound is a fun and inspiring look at Canada's basketball journey.

Inbound: A Powerful Story of Basketball, Immigration, and Canadian Identity

Inbound is a masterfully crafted documentary that captures the heart and soul of Canadian basketball through the lens of immigration, family, and perseverance. Director Davin Black weaves together stunning visuals, intimate interviews, and electrifying game highlights to tell a story that goes far beyond the sport. This isn't just about rising NBA stars-it's about the sacrifices, resilience, and unwavering support of the families and communities that helped shape them. The film beautifully connects Canada's evolving immigration policies to the emergence of world-class basketball talent, offering a fresh and deeply emotional take on the game's growth in the country.

What sets Inbound apart is its ability to resonate with audiences beyond basketball fans. It's an inspiring narrative of cultural unity, ambition, and the pursuit of excellence, backed by immersive cinematography. Whether you're a die-hard basketball enthusiast or simply love compelling storytelling, Inbound delivers a powerful message: greatness is built on the shoulders of those who came before, and Canada's basketball future has never looked brighter.

More than just a basketball story...

An incredible piece of storytelling when Canadian basketball and patriotism is on the rise. Beautifully shot and extremely informative! A unexpected approach on the history of basketball in Canada, starting at the point in time that was most impactful on its current climate. Inbound is exciting and at times funny. It dances between heavy and light moments. The film both teaches and tugs at the heart strings. There were moments in the theatre where people were cheering, laughing and weeping. Just the right blend of sports and emotions that will engage both basketball fans, and those who don't follow the sport. Truly a must see!

A Must See for Canadians

This film was really thoughtfully done - weaving together the stories of Canadian basketball players with that of their family roots, and immigration journey. Hearing from the players' moms was the highlight of the film for me. I also like the Vince Carter cameo!

It was also really interesting to learn about how basketball culture has grown in Canada, and how immigration has played such a crucial role in raising Canada's talent profile. It felt like a celebration of basketball, and the rich diversity of Canada. The history was fascinating to learn about.

This made me proud to be Canadian! Would highly recommend this film.

A Story Worth Watching

Let me be honest-I'm not a sports fan and only agreed to watch Inbound because of my husband, a huge basketball fan. But to my surprise, I genuinely enjoyed it.

This documentary isn't just about sports; it's about culture, identity, and believing in yourself. Inbound is powerful and engaging, even for someone like me, because it focuses on the human side of basketball. It's not just about stats or NBA success-it's about kids playing on outdoor courts, the communities that support them, and the challenges athletes and their families overcome. Seeing the impact basketball has had on people's lives made Inbound feel like a story about Canada itself, not just the sport.

Beyond its message, Inbound is beautifully made, weaving personal stories, historic footage, and fresh insights into a compelling narrative. I found it both inspiring and eye-opening as it captures the passion, ambition, and resilience that define what it truly means to be Canadian today!

INBOUND...Entertaining and Edicational!

This was a very well thought out project and it definitely delivers! Fans of basketball and Canada should feel very good about their place on the world's stage!

The family interviews are heartwarming and also give you goosebumps! The on court footage was pieced together masterfully and the historical relevance was an important part for me.

I learned quite a bit about the immigration process to Canada and was quite surprised to learn that some of the NBA's best players are represented by the North 🇨🇦!

Lots of knowledge to be gained in a fairly short film! I highly recommend watching this! Well done!

A must-see!

As a fan of the NBA, and proud Canadian, I was so excited for this. Incredible piece around the growth of basketball and shifting demographics around the sport since the league's inception in Canada. It was engaging, informative, and beautifully crafted. I loved how the storytelling was compelling, balancing personal stories, on-court and historical context. Visually, the cinematography was excellent. The editing was sharp, and loved the strong female representation in the credits.

A must-watch for all Canadians, young and old, and lovers of the sport of basketball! I hope this will be available soon everywhere movies are sold.
