- Reg Monroe: [Noah talks to Reg Monroe about Alexandria] Sorry I'm late. The power's out again. How is it that you called this extremely early morning meeting, yet I'm the one bringing breakfast?

- Reg Monroe: The evidence seems to go in that direction. What's up?
- Noah: Can we start, meeting in the mornings?
- Reg Monroe: So I can bring you steel-cut oatmeal and ask you why we're meeting?
- Noah: So you can teach me how to build things.
- Reg Monroe: You want to be an architect?
- Noah: I want to make sure those walls stay up.
- Reg Monroe: Do you think they could fall?
- Noah: I think they can get knocked in. Could be years from now. Could be when I'm your age.

- Noah: Well, it wouldn't hurt if I knew some of what you knew. For the walls, for the houses. Some new buildings.
- Reg Monroe: So you're in it for the long haul.
- Noah: Yeah.
- Noah: [Reg pulls out a diary] What are you writing?
- Reg Monroe: Oh, I write everything down. Everything of note.
- Noah: [Reg pauses, and then rips out the top page and gives the book to Noah] Now you should. There's going to be a lot to remember. This is the beginning of this place. You should record all that. Along with everything I'm gonna teach you about building things.
- [Noah smiles and accepts the diary]
- [Eugene and Noah get ready to go out on a run]
- Dr. Eugene Porter: [Noah holds a gun up to Eugene to take] Oh, no, thank you.
- Nicholas: Just take it.
- Noah: Come on, you got to protect yourself.
- Dr. Eugene Porter: Not if I don't go.
- Aiden Monroe: We're not driving all that way so we can just drive back with the wrong shit.
