The show also included a backstage promo with NWA World Champion Ric Flair, Arn Anderson, Tully Blanchard, and JJ Dillon, who discussed their upcoming match against Sting, NWA Tag Team Champions Lex Luger, and Barry Windham later in the broadcast. In the closing moments, it was announced that Barry Windham would face Tully Blanchard, Arn Anderson would go one-on-one with Steve Williams, and The Warlord and The Barbarian would take on Brad Armstrong and Tim Horner in tag team action.
