Droopy Ear, the tribe's faithful but sometimes mischievous dog, decides to hide Restful Rock's precious flute. Now, how can Yakari discover the missing musical instrument before its owner returns?

Yakari promises to deliver trough the chief a warrior's favorite flute, which has been repaired, but mistaking it for a simple stick, his canine playmate runs off with it. Yakari must win the toughest-ever stick chase to be told where it has been buried. Yakari needs equine help to 'cheat' successfully, only to find the adults hardly handle it more carefully.—KGF Vissers

During a hunting trip, Speedy Turtle entrusts Yakari with Restful Rock's precious flute; however, when no one was looking, the playful dog snatches the flute and hides it in a secret place.
