This is a quite boring old format traditional documentary about China. All the footage in it are extremely old and outdated like a boring history textbook. Guy who made this documentary was another old guy who only submerged himself in the back alleys of China or, precisely speaking, Shanghai. We didn't see or hear anything new or up to date new, just old footage one after another. And those old stuff we've already seen thousand times.
Not worth of your time to read a textbook of the old Chinese history. Nothing new to learn.
