  • Beautifully shot and edited, this film captures perfectly both the intimacy and immediacy of watching a band in close quarters.

The Ex deliver a performance of youth and energy that defies their 33 years of existence. It makes you wonder how some more established bands that have been going for similar times have veered so close to the middle of the road, while the Ex are arguably surfing closer to the edge than before.

Sound quality also does the recording justice, listening back even without pictures, you can feel the exertion that is evident on the players faces.

A fine example of independent musical performance recording, and leaves you wondering how stale, bloated studio shows like Later... continue to be commissioned.
