- Jules is, self declared, the most useless person in the post apocalyptic world, until he finds an old film camera and determines to make the greatest movie in the new world... the only movie in the new world. But his first day filming is proving to be much more difficult than he imagined. Who knew that making a movie after the end of the world would be so hard?
- In the futures some "bad shit" happened. It was a result of corporate melt downs and a few million people spiraling into poverty which lead to civil unrest, crime and anarchy. Nuclear weapons and environmental catastrophes have pushed the planet into a full-blown apocalypse. In Potanka, a small town in the desert, a man with a hammer gathers people for an auction where trivial items from the past are sold. Jules (Seaton Kay-Smith) said that, despite the apocalypse, human nature has changed little. Jules' ambition is to make the greatest film his new found society has ever seen. Jules introduces his cast. Johnny (Matt Okley) is Jules' best friend. Jules believes Johnny can build and rebuild pretty much any machine left in their world. He is good with his hands but Jules is employing him as an actor in his film. D (Amelia Tranter) is a real actress who once made a commercial in Hollywood that no one ever saw because of the apocalypse. D's #1 fan is there, her sister Izzy (Kat Hoyos), but only because Izzy had nothing else to do that day. Hammond (Jak Wyld) is the guy to call if you need someone to carry something heavy somewhat far, but Jules is also using him as an additional actor. Mr. Plato (Nicholas Linehan) wrote Jules's movie which Jule's sister Sheila (Lucy Glanville) considers genius. Jules sets up his old 35mm camera and calls the cast to order. He announces that they are filming the kidnapping scene. Mr. Plato suggests it would be more authentic if they filmed the events in chronological order. Jules points out that first scene would be shot miles out of town, but Sheila agrees with Plato and argues for his approach. Meanwhile, Hammond questions with his casting. He sees himself as more of an entertainer that is singing and dancing. Jules points out the film is not a musical. Sheila toys with the angle on the camera. Johnny is concerned he has not fully memorized his lines. Jules says they can cut the film if that occurs. Sheila claims that would make for a jumpy scene and Izzy echoes that concern. Hammond asks for his motivation. D observes that the start of filming resembles a clown car pileup. Jules steps forward. He begins to describe to Hammond that Desiree is his ex-lover who has broken his heart. He is kidnapping Desiree, not to win her back, but to make sure her new lover James, suffers as much as he did. Jules announces they are going for a take, but his sister convinces him that they need to rehearse first. Izzy is skeptical it will make any difference at all. At "Action", Hammond rushes in and carries Desiree off in a fireman's carry. Jules stops the scene. Hammond argues his method of kidnapping was better than the script because it much more efficient. Mr. Plato tells Hammond that his character's strength is not in his physical prowess but that his powers of coercion that make him truly formidable. Hammond thinks his character is a wuss, but Jules insists that his character does not lack physical strength but seldom has to use it because of his superior intellect. This seems to satisfy Hammond. Hammond tells Jules to stop referring to him as "Ham Bone". Jules says it is a compliment in his native language of Yiddish. When Jules returns to the camera, Shelia insists he look through the view finder. Jules discovers that Johnny has a rather large strain on his shirt. When Jules learns that Johnny has no clean shirts, he asks him to switch places with D. He tells Shelia that by the time they are filming Johnny's dialogue, it will be dark enough not to notice the stain. Then Jules views D's impressive cleavage. He is taken aback and asks D if she has anything less "pink". Shelia suggests they need costumes, with which D wholeheartedly agrees. Jules wonders aloud where he would get costumes. Hammond chimes in that he thinks his character needs a hat. Johnny announces he knows where Jules could get costumes, but believes Jules will never go along with his idea. Other cast members are curious where. Johnny says they could ask Jule's ex. Shelia announces that she runs "CC's Well Off Seconds". Jules is indignant. He tells the cast to stop making suggestions, improvising, and interrupting or doing anything else that is counterproductive. Shelia then notices that the camera battery is dead. Izzy laughs loudly. Later Jules is taking the camera apart. Jules sets up the battery charger that is powered by the wind. The cast show delight and disappointment as the red light of the charger goes on and off. Finally, the charger shows green lights and the batteries are charged. Jules announces that now everyone should go and get costumes. Jules narrates that despite the apocalypse, the cast still wants a chance to matter and have an impact on the world, even if the worlds has completely turned to shit. They head down the road toward the resale shop. 6*
