The apothecary initially isn't wiling to help the strangers, until she recognizes Lucas's blade as mark of a wizard's guard knight and invites them in apologetically. While they heal Lucas, Dorothy discovers the boy kept in captivity, leading to a fight and a fire in the house, from which Jack and Tip escape, but soon find the lack of medicine has scary effects. Guard captain Eamonn's knight companions fear the quest's dangers and his methods enough to plot killing him off and seek the credit alone, but find he already dealt with one of them. The Wizzard opens the temple at Oz for the surviving witches to properly bury their sister and inherit some of her magic, but denies them privacy and Glinda duly curses the other's failure to pull the ritual off well.
