  • It is a fun story but there should have more details of his sufferings during the walk, or some sort of self improvements. The love story is predictable yet I found it sweet. It is nothing extraordinary but it was fun to watch.

According to my rating strategy : Story : 1/2 (Good), Task Accomplishment :1/1, Directing, Cinematography and Soundtrack : 1/2 (Okay), Cast : 1/2 (Good), Viewer : 1/2, Wow Factor :0/1
  • Lemme tell ya, if I could, I'd revoke my citizenship and become a New Zealander yesterday.
  • So is this movie going to win Best Picture? No. But you can certainly sit through worse (I have!)

The story is kind of ridiculous, but the lead actor is adorable and charming. Fun to watch things develop with the female characters, even if they are predictable. And then there's John Cleese, who as far as I'm concerned would be funny reading medical bills. Throw in some shots of Jake's fabulous ass, and you've got a pleasantly entertaining way to spend an hour and a half.
  • Halfway through this film I was sufficiently inspired enough to get up off the sofa and book my car in for its annual MoT which unfortunately only took five minutes leaving me with another 40 minutes of the film.

Don't watch this. I tried because of the positive reviews but got disspointed big time. Save youself the trouble and look for another movie to watch.
  • I cannot believe a film such as this could be made in this era. Pathetic script, disjointed and unfunny. Not worthy of release - and sadly I've now seen how reviews are fixed, even in IMDb. Everyone involved should be squirming with embarrassment.

I didn't expect a whole lot from this movie but when a movie makes me laugh and keeps me invested start to finish that movie has done it's job.

Bad script. Bad direction. Bad cinematography. Don't waste your time.

Great cast that you instantly feel attached to. The way the eye is directed is pretty solid, good editing, directing, & good camera work. Great story, music, SFX, dialogue, Aussie lingo. I've been looking to travel around my location more, and this inspires me in many ways for sure.

Ordinary film. John Cleese would be wiping this from his resume ! The only plus would be for international viewers with some of the scenery. The fact he's meant to be walking from Margaret River to Broome, and passes through Dardanup, a fair way off track just like the direction of the movie.
  • I rarely leave movie reviews on imdb, I just felt it necessary to warn moviegoers to avoid some Z series films like this one. Ok the guy is cute and eye candy, but that's about as shallow as the story will get, it's a bit thin !

The premise of a guy walking naked around the wild Australia seemed intriguing! Sadly, the context is misused.. from the fauna, to memorable locations or moments, people and so much more. I only laughed when the lead was running from dangerous "dogs" you had to imagine, because that would have required effort.

Thankfully it doesn't belittles itself with dumb and unrealistic daredevil Jackass-like acts. But, sadly, it doesn't give you anything to hold onto either. And while it is decently shot and produced (except for the sound editing).. the hollow plot, boring developments, horrid pacing, bad acting, the awkward interactions, and awfully simplistic and terrible dialogues leave more than a distaste in my mouth.. and all over a rushed and flat romance story with no payoff or emotion.

    It's bad, just bad..
  • It is a treat when John is on screen and so excellent seeing him back on the big screen playing himself, lol, an angry old guy that seems to never get what he wants despite his fortune! So much more than a cameo and he adds some weight, to an excellent film that I think will be loved by audiences anywhere in the world.

Special mention to the character Eli who was easily best of the rest and such a smart quick wit that led to plenty of good laughs.
  • Remember Crocodile Dundee, the second highest grossing film worldwide in 1986 after Top Gun? The Naked Wanderer is just as funny and entertaining, taking a cheeky look at life, relationships and dangerous Australian wildlife. Excellent performances from a strong cast with colourful characters that are easy to relate to, particularly Angus McLaren , the beautiful Natasha Liu Bordizzo, crazy legend John Cleese and debuts from Callan Durlik (screenplay) and Alan Little who plays the aboriginal returning to country. And what amazing country! Spectacular glimpses of Margaret River, Bunbury, Karratha and Broome. Sit back, laugh and enjoy!
  • After the buzz of the premiere I went in with high hopes to the Margaret River screening at CinefestOz and it didn't dissapoint. Such a lovely film and it had me laughing and crying as Jake fought his way to find his true love. Angus is amazing as Jake, and his friend Cam was hilariously silly. Hope lots of people get a chance to see this and so happy it was made in south west WA!
  • Lucky enough to attend the World Premiere and absolutely loved seeing true Aussie humour come back to our screens. The scenery is amazing, jokes were abundant and the casting was spot on. Can't believe how much of the film John Cleese was in too, he is hilarious!

Make the effort to see it with a crowd and share in the love and laughter that The Naked Wanderer serves up.
  • The Naked Wanderer is a surprise package. I wasn't expecting much to be honest but it wasn't long before I succumbed to its charm. I really enjoyed the chemistry between Jack and Valerie, the film's love interests. While not rocket science, the script is sweet and endearing and, at times, very witty. There were a few belly laugh moments and lots of chuckles on the way. Loved seeing the Lancelin sand dunes and the Pilbara featured in stunning shots. I really liked this movie and was glad I spent my money on it. It was very worthwhile.

How amazing is seeing such a diverse cast taking Australian romantic comedy forward! The ex-girlfriend was hilarious, the best breakup scene in ages. Mr King's assistant had such poise but nailed the timing to set up some great laughs. Natasha and Angus had great chemistry too.

Some of the music was a little odd at times but other than that thoroghly enjoyed this journey across the outback, and plenty of coast line!
  • Saw The Naked Wanderer at Hoyts Eastland (Ringwood, Victoria) last night (7 September 2019) and thoroughly enjoyed it. It's a fabulous showcase of Western Australia and quite humorous. A great cast with a plenty of newbies and demonstrates the goodwill of the typical Aussie with a broken heart finding love on his naked journey.. highly recommend for a great nights entertainment..

Seeing my home town featuring throughout the movie and so many places I recognised was a great experience. I loved the story & the humour. Showcasing WA's varying landscapes in such a beautiful way. Absolutely worth a watch.
  • My girlfriend and i went to the opening night in cinemas in Melbourne and really enjoy the film. The movie is really light-hearted and has some laugh out load moments.

I liked the fresh cast, plenty of new faces and the addition of John Cleese was HILARIOUS!

Highly recommend! Go watch it. proud to be Aussie!!
  • This Rom-Com Tele-Port's this baby boomer back to the beaches of Northern NSW, schools over & we are on a 2 week surfing safari (pun intended). The Naked Wanderer reminds me of that pre-mobile phone era, before diary, no job & dwindling savings as we chased waves in the day and nurtured relationships under the stars. Instead of camels we rode horses, snakes we dodged and instead of lost cars we had camper vans blow a ram rod in between towns. This movie is a very pleasant (teary at times, happy tears that is) walk down memory lane. Long live the road trip romance! Oh & Great to see a whole movie with NO CGI ! It's heartwarming .

I wasn't sure how I would find this movie but It was really well done, and hilarious, and heart warmng.
  • Who rate low this movie are either haters or people who like garbage. It is not just a comedy. It also bring in prospective life and show one side of this reality where untill we get stuck in our life we may don't realise how the people who we think we love, they may end up being those who are negatively influencing our life great story ;-),great soud, great great great!
  • Loved the storyline simple and true to its title. If your after a comedy that is fun, whimsical, ozzy and floats along a beautiful coastline with hilarious entanglements. Then look no further for a fun night out with friends and family. Angus was superb in his role as were the other cast members standing proud alongside the hilarious John Cleese. A good yarn ! 10/10
