Tom Schilling in Never Look Away (2018)

FAQ

Never Look Away

FAQ

Probably because these words were crucial to the protagonist's development since he heard them from the person he loved the most as a child. The German title centers on the work of art, while the English one, on the character's inner world. I would opt for the latter one.

The main issue with just translating the German title into English is that it is a phrase with a known meaning in German (a description of a type of work of art), whereas it has no meaning in English and would always have to be explained.

This is a question meant for anyone to answer at leisure. It's clear that the professor realized one of his victims was related to his son in law, but from there the possibilities are a-plenty. Maybe he went to Argentina or Paraguay, or maybe stayed in the FDR and hoped no one attached him to the program. SS closed ranks to protect each other and the police weren't too keen on getting them to trial. If no one denounced him no one would have been the wiser. Remember he passed the "job" to a subordinate.
