In a castle, during the rehearsal of a sword fight for a medieval show, one of the contenders, a knight in an armour, collapses. When they take off the helmet, it is not Philippe Reyes, the stuntman, as expected, but Noémie de Laurentis, one of the owners of the castle. Preliminary examination indicates that she was poisoned. Paul and Léa with the team must find out why she was wearing the armour. Lieutenant Inès Zaïdi returns from the Guayana to join the brigade.

Nina Delmas and Morgane Saroyan, two members of SNSM station in Port Camargue, find the body of Patrick Catala, 46, president of the association, drowned in the port. He was devoted to maritime rescue and apparently had no enemies. Lieutenant Lebellec learns that there have been several complaints against the station for response delays, and that someone was sabotaging the SNSM shuttle. Jules Gomez, the station mechanic, and Paul's childhood friend, is the main suspect.

Hervé Levers, 55, president of an association of reintegration sites, falls from the top of a scaffolding. All the inmates in the programme can be a suspect but also unhappy villagers being forced to live together in the village with prisoners in semi-freedom. The main issue for the brigade is to learn how the murderer was able to access the scaffolding without being seen by the other inmates.
