Surprisingly violent, considering the series it's in.
In some cutscenes, Velvet crushes a Daemon's skull. Though this is offscreen, some blackish blood is seen splattering on her face.
A young boy is stabbed through the heart by a crucifix, the wound is seen somewhat, with blood over where he was stabbed. He's then eaten whole by a flaming dragon-like creature.
Despite the darker tone of the game, violence never gets too graphic, as there's no blood during battle, and only a little in a few cutscenes. The violence, however, can be pretty intense.
A humanoid reptile-like creature has a large part of his tail cut off.

While not very violent at all, the game has a very dark tone compared to it's predecessors, a tone it takes very early on.
