  • I am a big fan of indie films. They are inventive, personal & unique. Cooke Concrete has these essential elements & much more. With a quirky protagonist and a mysterious backstory, it's a worthwhile adventure.

I give Cooke Concrete resounding Yes!!!
  • Sometime in the 1990s indie became a genre instead of merely a description of how a film was produced outside the studio system. An indie film would be less commercial. More personal. Ethically messier. This movie is an indie film in every sense of the word.

This movie was adapted from a novella. I have an unread book pile about a foot high, but novellas are short so I plan on reading it. After finishing this flick I had a similar feeling of having read a book. Books hit a little different.

I was impressed by actress Hannah Erdos. She was so good. This movie is the only thing she's ever done.
  • It's great to watch new actors take a part and turn it into something unique just through the power of their own interpretation. This film drops the cast into a mysterious situation and shows honest reactions in trying to resolve the mystery - but doesn't insult the viewer with pat answers. A fun watch!
