Paranoia begins to set in for Don Miguel regarding how his brother was captured by the DEA. Convinced that there is a leak, he enlists Jorge and Cordova to find out how this all happened. Meanwhile Feistl & Van Ness stay in Cali trying to dig up more dirt. Pena focuses on the trail of money, attempting to persuade Mrs. Jurado to turn her husband into a witness for Miguel's trial. Pacho decides to keep his alliance with the Cali cartel and not strike a deal with Fuentes.
This episode is pretty tame into these last high-intensity 15-minutes. David and his crew torture and kill Cordova and Calderon over the capture of Don Gilberto. I was on the edge of my seat as I watched Jorge's terror-stricken face. He's one of those antiheroes that you can't help but feel bad for. As hard as he tries to keep his hands clean, go straight, and get him and his family out of the cartel, he continues to get sucked deeper and deeper in. This all may change though as he appears to decide to assist the DEA as the episode comes to a close.
Another solid episode of Season 3. There's a still a void from the absence of Pablo Escobar and the fantastic acting of Wagner Moura, but the episodes thus far have been better than I expected and has forced me to keep watching the program. The multiple characters of the Cali cartel means that we don't get as much screen time with the main baddies as we did as with Pablo in the first 2 seasons, but the producers and writers have done a good job of creating a balanced story, showing us the inner workings of all the important members.
