  • Loved Katya, enjoyed Bianca and Rachel Dratch, but that Rex character made me feel severe... discomfort. He didn't come off so much stupid as he desperately needed a state-appointed guardian. I had a small respite when they were imprisoned, he dropped the baby talk and the writing improved... his jokes took the forefront for far too long of the movie.

I'll check out the next Bianca flick, but please no more of this chicanery.
  • ...When a certain drag queen made her cameo (you'll know it when you see it). The fact that this movie squanders the talents of such an obviously talented cast makes it feel like an embarrassment. I love RuPaul's Drag Race, Katya, Bianca Del Rio, Shangela, Cheyenne Jackson, Rachel Dratch: nearly the entire cast (except the guy who plays Rex, Paul Hault? who was both overused and irritating in this movie) but they need a script that makes use of their comedic chops. While Bianca Del Rio and Katya are absolutely hysterical in certain contexts their dialogue does them no favors and the plot allows them no chances to be clever. Rachel Dratch's Debbie comes off like a 2-D small-town caricature. I wanted to like this movie and I feel like with the right people at the script level the cast could really shine, however Hurricane Bianca is a storm in which the lightning did not strike twice, (or once, if we're being honest).
  • Ehhh...I love Bianca, but dear lawd the first movie was so much better. I can't say it was a terrible movie, but I wouldn't say I will watch this again. I was expecting much more. I would have thought Netflix should have picked this production up, but it doesn't seem like that happened....
  • Never have I wanted a sequel so bad and get so disappointed because of it. The thing is, it's not Bianca's fault, it's not any of the stars faults...except one person. The character of Rex, played by... someone who needed the money, was a stale, unnecessary addition that lacked any sort of comedic flavor to an already b-rated flick. I am usually very open minded about characters but this was UNBEARABLE.
  • While it feels like every fan of Bianca is gushing over this film, I cannot. It was enjoyable at some base level, but it lacked the self awareness and comedy of the first while somehow feeling cheaper. The script is just bad. Plot, dialog, jokes, nothing lands or works with these characters. Nothing in the plot made sense, the situations were completely unbelievable and resolution was lazy and pointless. I mean a plot isn't everything if you enjoy the characters and journey... but no one was relatable, just wooden stereotypes beaten to within an inch of their lives.
  • I will preface this with the fact I am huge Bianca fan, which only made this movie all the more disappointing. The biggest glaring problem was the script. It was beyond bad that not even all the guest stars could save it. The dialogue was not funny, the story lines were beyond implausable and the ending was flat. You know when you are in trouble when the bloopers at the end are the highlight. To bad this movie did not come with a money back guarantee. I guess I will write it of on my taxes and a donation. This movie should be packaged as double feature with Mariah Careys Glitter.
  • I absolutely love Bianca, but this movie was a let down compared to the first one. I didn't really like Rex. Storyline, dialogues etc were a bit weak, and not everything was as funny as it possibly could have been. I was expecting more. The cast itself was good.
  • I do love Bianca, but this movie is the worst gay movie ever created. Perhaps this is not Binaca's fault. Even the short name of Dimitri is Dima. It is clear that they did not have any research about Russia before to make the movie.
  • This movie isn't as good as the original but I still thourogly enjoyed this film. I laughed a lot and found the jokes funny. This film tackles topics that are in the media right now (albeit not seriously)
  • I love Bianca, Drag Race and the first Hurricane Bianca movie. This sequel is just so terrible. I had to switch it off before it ended. The Rex character just ruined it for me. He was weird and creepy. And his acting...what acting? The story line was ridiculous. The humour and the charm of the first film nowhere in sight.
  • I see a lot of negative reviews and they compelled me to write my own. I found the movie very funny. True, the first was funnier but this was still very good. I was sorry Willam wasn't in this one but I love Katya and she did not disappoint. She was fantastic. There was an underlying, darker, graver subplot to this movie, just beneath the ridiculously campy main plot that I found very powerful.

But the real reason I wanted to write this review is because of all the complaints about Rex played by Doug Plaut. I'm not sure why people hated this character so much. I found him HILARIOUS. I saw at least one reviewer say that he made them uncomfortable. Doug Plaut has mild cerebral palsy. He also had thyroid cancer and had to learn to speak again. His character is incredibly bizarre but that's what makes him so funny. He really played it very well and he makes the fishiest of queens!

If you go into this movie knowing that it's low budget and campy, you'll likely enjoy it. If you go into it expecting some kind of auteur film, well, you're watching the wrong movie!

My only real complaint is that I wish Alaska had a larger role. Bye-eeee!
  • I actually quite enjoyed this movie but omg Rex was just horrible to watch. Ruined the entire movie for me!
  • First movie with Bianca was very funny. this movie was made to cash (like ocean's 12) With horrible over the top acting from new cast members, this mixed with cheap decors, costumes and wigs it a not very easy movie to watch.

Bianca is better off to do a Netflix standup special for cashing fast money. And spend little bit more time & money on cast and production!

I am a HUGE Bianca fan, but this is one of the worst movies I have ever seen. Bianca and Katya are cute and funny, but that Rex guy.... I am still cringing when I think about him. The worst actor ever, seems like a demented sick person, I felt extremely uncomfortable watching him... So disappointed! I highly recommend not watching the sequel

    Warning: Spoilers
I love Bianca Del Rio, I think she is a comedic genius. Watching her is entertaining, end of story. Even though the first film was definitely better than the second, I still think she hasn't had the chance to show her full potential. I love Katya, and she did a great job in the movie. But it just wasn't the kind of explosion I expected from these two hilarious queens.

Rex character was kind of pointless. I laughed at him exactly twice. One was when he first arrived in Russia, looked out of the room window and said "hey, I can see Alaska from here!" And Alaska was outside, fighting two russian women for bread. I died laughing there and thought to myself "this is going to be a good one!" But unfortunately that wasn't true. And there was so much material too. And I really wanted to see them put Katya's twisted sense of humor in a better use. the bulky animated rat gets a special mention. It was out of nowhere and I didn't get why it was even there.

Overall I watched it and had a few laughs here and there, but only because of the talented queens. The story wasn't very good, but I weirdly enjoyed it. It is campy and absurd, but it could be much more campy and absurd with this cast. I hope to see more works from Bianca Del Rio and of course our lovely Katya.

Though I love Bianca Del Rio this was one of the worst examples of camp comedy I've seen. It mansplained everything mostly through Debbie and the annoying Rex, who was shoehorned into the plot in the most unfunny way and whose purpose and timing ruined an already poorly written script. I paused it twice just to stop gritting my teeth. Though it touched on certain individual and community issues in the male gay community, it was too clumsy to make most of them clear or sympathetic - which is the hallmark of good camp comedy.
  • I was surprised at how often I found myself laughing at the ridiculousness of Hurricane Bianca: From Russia With Hate. After being underwhelmed by the original Hurricane Bianca, which played more like a public service announcement than a legit comedy, I went into From Russia With Hate with low expectations, and maybe that helped, but this time, everyone involved has stepped their game up. The cast is better, and better utilized than the original Hurricane Bianca, and the jokes are much funnier and land more often.

While the first movie tried to be funny, many of the jokes were stale and too far and few in between to make it worth it, but now everything works together to turn Hurricane Bianca into what it should've been from the start: a spoof. The entire movie is lampooning Russia, and making fun of the entire country, while the first movie's digs at Texans fell flat, this time the scenarios are so ridiculous and campy that it actually works.

My biggest complaint with Hurricane Bianca is how long it took for her to officially show up into the movie. It's a whopping fifty minutes into the movie before Roy's character actually gets into drag. But this movie is also carried by Shangela who is always excellent and entertaining, and Katya, who is a surprisingly good actor, and really should be getting more work. The movie has many guest stars that are injecting the movie with energy and charisma during its less exciting moments.

    7/10

It's terribly shot. It's terribly written. It lacks self awareness - any awareness, for that matter, all the actors seem to be sleepwalking through the sets, unable to act convincingly. Everything about this movie, even the technical aspects (which would've been forgiven if it wasn't for an equally miserable plot and performances) is a disaster. The title seems oddly fitting - it is a hurricane, since it damages everything it comes in contact with. And it definitely did come from a place of deep resentment towards the viewer.

I really wanted to laugh at this film. Bianca's usually funny, but in this case it feels like a flick completely void of value and care for cinematography.
  • Wow, people are pissed off. Who is triggered by fat jokes (seriously people need to stop being such freaking social justice warriors, it's pathetic!) and who is annoyed by Rex. Don't care. Personally I found this movie quite decent. Not as funny as the first one, but still better than all the romantic comedies that make me want to gauge my eyes out. I am a huge RPDR- fan and the more I saw familiar queens the more I got excited. (BenDeLaCreme would have made me even more excited...) I wish I had seen more actual Bianca but well you can't get everything. The cast did a good job considering the style of the movie, it's not meant to be taken seriously (suck on it sjws) and I actually found Rex funny. And the boy looks good in a wig :) I am happy that RPDR has given so many queens the opportunity that they deserve. Except Alaska, sorry she doesn't deserve even a poster.
  • 4/10 - the production quality improved from the first, but everything else took a plunge for the worse
  • It's good to know that what was initially a startup project is growing and now has completed his/her second movie! Congratulations for it. Rather than that, watch the movie and give your own opinion about it. I personally like it :)
  • This is a total disaster on a cinematic level but I still rather enjoyed it! Bianca is quite fabulous - someone give her a gig in a mainstream move!

Unfortunately, most of the supporting cast are a complete disaster.

Kaleb King take a bow - you singlehandedly almost ruined this entire thing. Fan favourite Katya is about as funny as she was on the two seasons she clogged up - so not very.

Still, at least we have Bianca and Rachel Dratch to enjoy.

    :disco:
  • I loooooove Bianca Del Rio and have for quite a long time. The first Hurricane Bianca was way better and much more enjoyable to watch than..whatever you call this mess. I'll start off with whatever that thing is that plays Rex. I wish so bad that I could erase his face and voice out of my mind indefinitely. Everything about it is so cringey and I rolled my eyes every time it was on the screen. Idk if it was trying to be a male or female but this movie should be exactly what future movie and tv show producers need to see to make sure that thing never acts again. I love you Bianca and I'm sure putting that thing in for Rex wasn't your idea.
  • I don't know who this Rex...thing...is, but why was it necessary?? What did it add? It's creepy, it can't act and whoever wrote its lines should equally be fired. I was hoping it would just be a passing character when it first appeared on screen (for WAY TOO LONG, I'll add) but no...it appears to have remained in the film. I don't know for sure as I eventually quit watching because of it. That thing should never work in entertainment ever again. Sucks because other than that I really liked the cast--especially Rachel Dratch. How did no one see that this 'Rex' character was ruining the film whilst they were filming it?? The casting director should also never work in Hollywood ever again.
  • Warning: Spoilers
Idk how I came across this movie but I watched it well some of it not knowing it was a sequel. The character Rex and the actor who played him were absolutely terrible. His timing on the jokes stunk. He was whiny and so unfunny. The worst part it is 20 minutes in he had the majority of lines. Once the guy said he was leaving Rex with Bianca I turned it off. I'm glad to know everyone else despised him as well.
