'We Rise' was the winning entry in the Picturehouse Members Film Competition. The competition was judged by a panel of esteemed judges: Asif Kapadia (director, Senna, Amy), Barbara Broccoli (producer, Skyfall, Spectre), Danny Perkins (CEO of StudioCanal), Ben Roberts (Director of BFI Film Fund), Kate Gardiner (Head of Fox Searchlight), Tim Bevan (producer, The Theory Of Everything, Les Miserables), Tessa Ross (producer, Slumdog Millionaire, 12 Years A Slave), Clare Binns (Director of Programming and Acquisitions, Picturehouse), Gurinder Chadha (director, Bride & Prejudice, Bend It Like Beckham), Edith Bowman (presenter) and Charles Gant (Film Editor, Heat), Laurence Thomson (Chief Creative Officer, McCann London).
There were over 400 scripts and outlines entered in the competition on the theme of 'belonging'. The winner's prize was to have the film made and shown in all Picturehouse cinemas across the UK, before every feature presentation. Rosie Baldwin is a Picturehouse member at Ritzy Cinema, Brixton.
As a result of the film, an official release of Delta Seven's music is in development.
