Just after the 30 minute mark, the guys join Landon and Allistair for dinner. When their venison is served, it's just a plate full of sliced meat and sauce. When Vaughn is cutting it and feeling ill, there are two small potatoes on the plate.
When Vaughn is going to kill the deer, he is using a .22 caliber rifle. This caliber would be good for hunting rabbit, but it is not nearly powerful or big enough to kill a deer.
