This movie is pathetic, I went to watch this movie because i thought it would be fun to watch, but in reality it turned out to be horror. I expected this to comedy but once sunil grover acting proved that small screen comedian can never be like silver screen actors, same story like his friend Kapil Sharma. Whole movie is baseless, pathetic, seems to be captured with low quality camera plus low grade actors, its an insult to Indian comedians. If you are a big fan of guthi and accepts whatever he does is always good you better watch this movie in home but don't go and waste your time and money in multiplex. I am giving 3 stars because i went to cinema to watch this movie or else i would have rated it 2.

In India and the world, media plays a crucial role. Making a film on media itself is no easy task. Many filmmakers have tried this genre and add satirical pinch to make it sound funny. And many a times, they succeed too. But not all succeed. The makers of Coffee WITH D wanted to give something humorous, but didn't succeed in their effort as the film turns out to be bland, especially in terms of humour though a few jokes do work at times.
COFFEE WITH D is a film I watched with heavy expectations. And that's my fault. I don't consider negative reviews as a factor for not watching a film. If I feel a film's good, I do watch it. So keeping aside the negative reviews, I decided to watch the film as the trailer seemed promising. But this film isn't funny at all. Only a few jokes work here and there, and the film doesn't have much to offer as the content is executed very poorly. I was very confused whether to like or dislike the film.
The editing is the biggest negative part for COFFEE WITH D. Subplots don't work at all. The film doesn't succeed in justifying its 2-hrs long running time as many sequences could've been easily edited out. Also, the sprinkling of B-Grade stuff doesn't work or help the film in any way. Rather, it makes the viewer cringe at times. The film is not for family audiences as it gets too vulgar at times, though not fully. The song "Teri Duniya Di" is good and remains with you even after leaving the film, but no other song is any good at all.
The film, however does entertain towards the last 30 minutes and in the beginning. It's only in between that the film gets disappointing, making us ask: Where's the humour? It doesn't seem like a comedy film. Sunil Grover is quite disappointing in both acting & dialogue delivery. He however tries hard and his efforts can be noticed in many portions. Zakir Hussain is somewhat okay with his act. The heroines Anjana Sukhani and Dipannita Sharma have nothing great to do in this film. The show and scene stealer is Pankaj Tripathi, who offers a solid humorous punch with his comic timing and act. But sadly he isn't given that proper scope. Besides, the climax seems interesting but the ending shot is hardly any entertaining.
Having said that, COFFEE WITH D is unfortunately a disappointing film, watching which depends on you. You may watch it, but you're bound to be disappointed unless you're a die-hard Sunil Grover fan. That's another thing that even his fans won't be impressed much with his act and film. -
pankujbhai31 January 2017Sunil grover better recognized as dr mashhoor Gulati on a popular comedy show takes a full fledged shot at movies and gets his clothes tattered literally. In what seems to be a poor production value movie shot in a studio surroundings he gets ample screen space but screws up everything. Everything is bad about the film. the casting the dialogues the screen play ,the visuals ..everything...The jokes are anything but jokes !!it seems it was written in 2hrs flat and acted out in 5 days. Like his mentor before him sunil found someone to fund this movie and make him the hero. It is a waste of time effort movie on both sides for the makers as well as the viewers. No need to get into describing the story as there isn't any!! I thing this much is enough to deter everyone from watching the film

vkap-1325229 December 2017It looks like someone made this as a course project (minus of course, Zakir Hussain). Story, script, screenplay, cinematography are all low quality and scream "budget!". Even though there a few good dialogs and ideas, it is overall very cheesy.
Even if you get it for free, stay away. You can use your time better by watching almost any other movie.
On the positive side, Zakir Hussain has done a great job - as you would expect. Others are completely eclipsed or simply don't have a chance (e.g. Dipannita Sharma) -

That's all. I do not have anything more to add. Bollywood only producing this kind of movies now.
Sunil is a multi-talented actor so his fans expect comedy from him, not action or any kind of hero stuff. So be what you are.

vinod_kheerbat21 January 2017Went to see this movie for Sunil Grover. I love his versatile acting in Kapil Sharma Show. He does not disappoint with his acting in this movie and does justice to his role. This movie is average and could be made much better & more thrilling for the audiences. It looks it has been made cautiously by not offending the D. Dialogues at few places are edited by pause for audience to imagine the word censored. The story is weak it assumes that every one in audience is aware of D as a underworld don. It does not go into details of going into Pakistan to take the interview and coming out of that country and this is assumed to be due to power of D. There is surprise about D at the end. I wish this movie better audience.

usamanaimattullah19 November 2017I don't know why this movie is made. Literally, how can such a film can be released which has no story line except for a famous TV character. I think all the movie money is collected by the publicity of Sunil Grover(Mashoor Gulati, Palak etc.). This movie has no climax. Like in the interview with D, Arnab in no time and with no reason got hyper and angry. And I don't understand that how can he became super hero by an Don based in Pakistan and how was he affecting India.
Coming to the beginning of the movie, tell me this how news is made in India. By only 4 person who does all the task of the channel. I think budget i guess. Who else think that the underworld don who has control over the world can not handle social media trolling. He should have taken classes from Dhincak Pooja, Rapper Avi from India, or Nasir Khan Jan from Pakistan.
In the last, I've to say that all the producer and director himself is a no-ob or something else i don't know what to say about them. This movie is a scar on a thrill and comedy movie.
Discalmer: Still want to watch this movie. This movie has CG(cancer guidance). Counsel you doctor before and after watching this movie.
And Cheers for Sunil Grover for his choice of script. Agar movie ni milty koi b chala gee. -
jetkot21 December 2017This film had potential. The central plot was a unique idea and only the execution could have made it a fantastic film. Sunil Grover is a decent actor however he cannot run a movie on his shoulders. He is a exceptional comedian when he is playing an over the top and goofish character like Mashoor Gulati. Here he is struggling to play a serious character. He is caught up between comedy and serious acting. The dialouges are cringe worthy and hence you lose interest almost immediately. Zakir Hussian is a fantastic actor otherwise and he got the look of the character right. However he makes the character look like a caricature of the defamed Don. Pankaj Tripathy plays his part beautifully but again he is wasted in this miniature caricature role. Dippanata sharma is hot but she looks old. Anjana sukhani is past her prime. Movie finishes on a ridiculous note. Climax does not convince you.

tuxnoel10 March 2017Watching this movie one can clearly feel a good amount of intelligent research work has gone into its making. This is comedy at its honest and simplest best. Film seems to be on low budget but justice to the script and plot has certainly been done. The lead actor, don and his right hand man are the pivots. It will definitely be funny if you follow Indian news media and watch it without taking life too seriously. Definitely don't miss this refreshing change after supposedly comedy flicks given by Salman and Devgun. Sunil Grover was much liked in his role as Lallan in TV series couple of years back.

I watched this on YouTube last week after discovering that Sunil Grover (Mashoor Gulati) was the main actor. I therefore expected the movie to be a fall - off - your - chair with laughter type of film, poor reviews notwithstanding. Hmmmmm ....
Coffee with D is very poorly made unfortunately. It really ought to have been a slick and tight production which it clearly was not. Though the plot had promise being a combined spoof on Arnab G's and Koffee with K :-)
The only saving grace was the actual Coffee with D interview sequence which was witty to a tee and very well enacted by Sunil Grover. I loved the part where D demands his "KwK" hamper !!! -
