This HD remaster features an all-new cast of voice actors, but unlike the HD release of Silent Hill 2, Silent Hill 3 HD does not offer players the option to listen to the original voice actors.
Many of the unlockable costumes offered in the original Silent Hill 3 are not included in the HD release, possibly due to rights issues.
Was originally going to be a PlayStation 3 exclusive, but after much fan outcry a Xbox 360 port was developed as well.
A patch was eventually released to fix some of the bugs and glitches for the PS3 version, but the patch for the Xbox 360 version was cancelled.
The code that Konami gave to Hijinx Studios in order to create this HD converison of Silent Hill 2 was incomplete. The code that Hijinx had received was of a beta build of Silent Hill 2, and lacked the game's source code. So Hijinx had to fix old bugs and glitches that the original developers of Silent Hill 2 already addressed in the original version of the game, on top of new bugs and glitches caused by the porting process. This is attributed as to why Silent Hill 2 HD turned out as poorly as it did, with it featuring many bugs and glitches not found in the original version of the game.
