Harland Williams created Puppy Dog Pals based on his own two pups. When he would leave the house, he would put a newspaper down in their room. He would imagine his dogs reading the headlines and going on missions while he was at work.
Season 4 is the shortest season, having only 16 episodes,unlike seasons 1-3 having 25-30 episodes each.
This is the only Disney Junior original from the second half of the 2010s to have more than 3 seasons.
Though the show's animation improved from "Elves for a Day/The Dreidel Dilemma (2019)" onward due to Rainbow CGI replacing DQ Entertainment, the closing credits of Bingo and Rolly dancing to the theme song (as made by DQ Entertainment) remained unchanged since 2017.
