The film has been made on a very low budget, so naturally things take longer to complete, as there is little to no money left over to pay large numbers of people to carry out post production etc. In addition, the UK lockdown has prevented the final sound mix from being finished on schedule, but the film was completed in October 2022.

Aside from the £10K raised via crowdfunding, the film had a small number of private investors, and the budget was spent on the crew and post production only. The director, producers and cast all worked on the film on the understanding that they would not get paid for their work. Additionally, costs were kept down by filming in a free exterior location over a six day period, which saved a lot of time and money.

While the film is scheduled to be completed in late 2022, the exact details of when and where it will appear are still being determined by the producers and the distribution company. Eligible crowdfunding backers will be shown the film at exclusive screenings first, as they were promised. Hopefully, by the end of 2022, there will be a distribution and marketing timetable in place.

While there is always potential for it, no sequel has been planned. There is a prequel called 'Offworld: Pre-Flight' by the co writer, which is due for publication as a novel in 2023.

Offworld is the first film from the production company, PGCI Media Ltd., but there is another feature film in early development, entitled 'WOW', which may involve some of the cast and crew of Offworld.
