  • This show has everything. From hilarious commentary to mysterious stories. Shane and Ryan's witty banter also adds the perfect touch of realness. I usually don't watch Buzzfeed but for me this is a special exception.

    Fun
Came across this show and glad I did. If I created a show with some of my buddies, this is what I would imagine it would be like. I enjoy Ryan's research and nerdiness on a topic (ghosts) he enjoys and Shane being the "Jim Halpert" of the crew.
  • Although I rarely find Buzzfeed's content entertaining, I would have to say I think this is a rare hit for the company. I enjoy every aspect of every episode, but I believe that the core reason the show works as well as it does is because of the interesting (and funny) dynamic between Shane and Ryan. Shane acting as more of a skeptic and Ryan acting as more of an advocate for "unscientific" theories, like ghosts and/or aliens. Overall, I think they cover interesting cases, the investigating is thorough and most of all it is very entertaining.
  • I was obsessed with this a few years ago. The only thing Buzzfeed has produced that is a lot of fun to watch. The duo couldn't be more perfect. The way Ryan relays information about the case just completely draws you in and Shane is the perfect comic relief.
  • Review: 'Buzzfeed Unsolved: True Crime' had potential, as a documentary series about the famous unsolved mysteries of crime. Covering unsolved cases and hosts presenting there opinion on the cases, and maybe even some theories. This online series was sadly very disappointing.

Well yes, the series can be quite informative on some of these topics, I feel the episodes often derail themselves with there idea of "comedy". Which is just talking about it in a podcast, throwing in a witty remark or curse-word. And it just takes away from the seriousness of what they are talking about. When discussing a murder, do you want to hear jokes? I wouldn't.

Also, the hosts are not as funny as they think they are. The only people that laugh at their jokes, are themselves. I just think they try too hard to be funny. When there jobs as the hosts of this documentary, is to inform the audience in a professional manor.

I do think they put a lot of research into this series, I just wish they took it seriously. If the series was more like a professional documentary series, like something that somewhat resembles 'Cold Case Files'. I would honestly agree with the rating on IMDB. But maybe I just don't get it. Maybe there's something I just don't see. Maybe I'm wrong. Watch it, and decide your opinion on this series.

These guys are awesome! Been following them on YouTube from the start!
  • I've always been quite interested in mystery stories. I've been watching true crime stories for years & had heard about many of these cases, so I can say that the research is very well done. They present every theory known and I have to admit I'm starting to find some of their comments really funny. The humor is a bit childish at times, but why not? These guys are very young & the humor is growing up each season. Loving these shows!

I actually think Shane is an awesome part of this show, I love his comic relief! He sets it apart from any other show out there that investigates unsolved murders or paranormal cases!

Interesting and gives you facts that you might not know. Ryan and Shane ripping on each other just makes it even better

One thing I really love about this show is Shane and Ryan's connection. Their jokes and bits really take away from the scary aspects.. 10/10!
  • Ryan and Shane keep you snickering throughout the episodes. They give amazing details about cases I thought I knew everything about, as well as ones I had never heard of. Sometimes it borders on morbidity and then they throw humor into it making you smile. I strongly recommend it to anyone who likes true crime shows and likes to laugh.

The banter is amusing the shoe is entertaining very enjoyable
  • Shane is annoying AF. I know he thinks he's really funny and it makes a lot of sense to have a skeptic on the show, but he gets on my nerves. In my opinion, a skeptic that doesn't think he's seinfield would make a better show. Buzzfeed doesn't have to equal immature and ridiculous.
  • Although I like the commentary about the crimes and it is well researched, the guys' ignorance of the time period the crime was committed is aggravating. And their schtick is annoying.
  • I love true crime and love these two. I'm always excited for new episodes.

    great.
It's so funny and I love how I can see Shane whom I can relate to on screen
  • I love the fact that the absurdity of life and death is a prevalent theme. Episodes are not too long. And you probably haven't heard of some of the cases. The show pairs well with alcohol.

This show isn't for everyone: it appears you either love it or hate it based on the sample of reviews.
  • These two gents are hilarious and bloody brilliant! This show is so much fun , whether its supernatural or true crime it hits every note right!
  • While this series does cover true crime cases - both well-known and more obscure - the main reason to watch is how the overview of the cases are delivered. The hosts, Ryan and Shane, are incredibly funny and sarcastic, and the rapport between the two is great. The episodes are short, so you're just going to get the basic facts regarding the mysteries covered, but even for the episodes featuring more "popular" cases, they're worth watching because of the new way that the information is delivered.
  • Found out recently that this YouTube series is now available on Hulu. While that's incredibly exciting, it seems that it has found a new audience that isn't familiar with the show's roots. Buzzfeed Unsolved is a rare breed of supernatural show. It's spooky history mixed with typical YouTube comedy and charm. It's professionally presented but it also knows it's not Ghost Adventures. The wide eyed curiosity of Ryan vs the dry sarcastic doubt of Shane will forever be one of the show's greatest strengths.
  • Not what I expected. Lots of humor and laughs. It also sheds fresh light on topics thar I didn't know or never knew.

The show is fun and educational. Who'd have thought?
  • Warning: Spoilers
Very good show. I liked that the episodes were too long so I could catch up on most of the stories. Didn't realize they're already done with the show. Would have liked to have seen the explore the story of Ray Gricar, the missing DA from Centre County, PA somehow involved with the PSU Jerry Sandusky case.

Also just learned someone actually found that damn treasure in Wyoming haha wtf. Ryan should have went with his gut.
  • Just tell the story we don't need your back and forth with intelligent limited co star. Damn!
  • Buzzfeed Unsolved (Supernatural and True Crime) is a great show to unwind with. The series functions basically like a podcast, as one host (the serious, believer type) tells stories of the supernatural and unsolved cases to the other host (the laid-back, cynical type). Together, the two hosts explore possible theories and travel to actual sites. Buzzfeed Unsolved is relaxed, without taking itself too seriously - the hosts don't pretend to have the answers or to know the reality of the situations they explore and cover, and they take the time to crack jokes and riff off of one another in a natural, unscripted way. While this means the show does not always yield the most exciting or in-depth results, this approach adds authenticity and charm to the sometimes spooky or grim proceedings. Hosts Shane & Ryan are naturally endearing but grounded people that come at things from different angles, and as a result you feel like you are being told ghost or true crime stories by two regular guys (with amazing chemistry). The show has managed to cover many cases and ghost stories in interesting ways and I'm sad there's only one season left!
